Old v. New (Muscle Cars)
Well, dodge have brought out these new muscle cars: Charger, Challenger
Chevrolet have brought out: Corvette C6 and Z06, Camaro
Ford have: Mustang (could ford GT be counted? )

I was wondering,do you prefer the originals? or the new up to date versions?
I don't like muscle cars.

I'm all in for Tuners and supercars!
yyeeahhh!!! 1 to 1 to 1 to 4!

I miss the 'This or That' :hide:
I love new charger and challenger but mustang is not nice

old all of those over corvette only new one..
Old muscle cars!!
Old school of course. Muscle cars are something of an era that has ended. It was when a heavy, poor handling, powerful vehicle was considered fun. Much like some of those new AMGs that are like 4500lbs.
Ford had something different when they retrostyled the Mustang. Of course, not to be undone, GM and Chrysler had to jump in and copy it.

GM and Chrysler are to LFS cruising servers as the Mustang is to the CLC cruise server. The former all copies, the later are the original concepts.

Oldschool.

Imo there hasn't really been beauts since 1995 or so.

Buick Regal Grand National / GNX '87
Toyota Corolla GT (AE86 Levin)
Toyota Supra MkIII & MkIV
Ford Sierra RS Cosworth Sapphire
Opel/Lotus Omega/Carlton/3000/EVO500
Honda NSX
Dodge M4S
Ok, I admit, I have curious perversion for Plymouth Superbird

Of the new ones pretty much only Mercury Marauder (3rd gen) and Holden Monaro (also 3rd gen) scratched my itch.
New cars in general are ok. New 'Muscle cars' are just fugly. *really* fugly. Old Muscle cars are proper works of art.
Old school all the way. 65 Stang, 67 Camaro, Cudas and Firebirds and yum.

Some of the new ones aren't too bad though. I like the Shelby GT500s though.

Actually Plymouth was first.
The Plymouth Prowler is the "first" retro looking car if you can say that.
i like both. the new muscle cars have much more speed, handling, have the same horse as the new ones, and the Corvette, is an all around supercar musclecar type of car.

BTW, how can I start polls? Or is that a S2 licensed thing?

then it was the Mustang, right? then the Challenger, and soon to be Camaro. Well, not really on the Camaro.

now since you put that, i just noticed. also. chevrolet is trying to copy some other cars too. Like take the Audi R8, the new Audi S4, A4, and S5, and look at their headlights. The all new Camaro has a ring around the lights that, jut like the LEDs, stays on. Also, the new Camaro rims look like something off a RX-8.

Yep.

in my view muscel cars were only really built in the 1960's and early 1970's

cars like
Ford Mustang /Boss 302,66 fast back
all the ORIGNAL MANARO's
SLR500 torna LG XU1 torry and a few others
not to mention the dodge's and other cars of that era

i think for a car to be a muscel car when you look at it you think *that car wants to eat small children*

Well you could break hotrods down into like a billion other categories,

PS: and yes that comma was TOTALLY nessecary
This is the real view of muscle cars.
Muscle cars is the ones made from 196x to 1973 and came with the big engines.
Why 1973? because that year the 440 disapeared, the 426Hemi no longer existed, no more 318, no more 429, no more 428, no more boss engines, no more Mustang Boss, no more any fun car!
At 1974 noone wanted the cars with big muscles etc.
The big oil crisis started then and everyone wanted small crap cars.
1971 was the last year for Mustangs Boss version.
1973 was the last year for the big engines.
Then 1974 came the Mustang II, the small ****ed up Dodge Charger which noone knows about, no more Challenger, no more Barracuda etc.
AMC Pacer, Mustang II, Ford Pinto etc. The list can be long of what people wanted.
They wanted small 4-6 cylinder engines.
Then in 1993 (I think) Ford's legendary 5.0L v8 disapeared instead they use 4.6L.
They brought the 5.0 back on some cars, but can't remember which ...

1996 I believe
imho old musclecras are the best, i love they way they are hugly rubbish and hugly great at the same time, as for modern day stuff, some of it is good like the new mustang(though only the v8 versions) and the holden/vauxhall monaros as well(and yes it is a muscle car)

just one note on vipers, tbh im not a great fan of them especially with the v10 because to me a muscle car has to have a v8
Old school, of course. I loooove them
Quote from mrodgers :1996 I believe

Was it?
I think the last year with the 5.0 was 1993 because that was the last fox-body mustang ... Then with the whole new mustang they changed to the 4.6 on the mustang, cougar and thunderbird ...
