Quote from BlueFlame :The Porsche marque is based around the 911, almost every model they've ever made for the road is a 911 like the 959 as perfect example. It's a 959 but it's still a 911

The 959 is as much of a 911 as a ZAZ 965

About the discussion about Audi R8 vs Porsche 911.... You guys must understand that who buy a 911 buys it because it is a 911, despite of the weight distribution problems or any other advantage of the Audi R8. The 911 is a legend, an automotive icon, and we love it as it is, we don't care if it's the best or the worst car in the world.

Except that the veyron is one of the ugliest cars in existance.
Yeah but it's guaranteed that something of that ilk will be ugly. The Veyron is just....ugly. Just becuase it's one of the best cars ever made doesn't mean it's a good looker

Although who am I to speak when I love the Gumpert Apollo

....

I hate that thing because of it's philosophy, t's a car to show off. The owner says: "My car has 1000hp and can go more than 400km/h". And then everyone around say "woooooaaaah" and he feels so happy, even if he has never gone faster than 150km/h. I don't want a car in my garage with that philosophy.
Besides, you don't need to merge two engines and add four turbos to get 1000hp, that's called mechanical inefficiency

The philosophy was never about the customers, they only made more than 400 to get it classified as a production vehicle. And bolting two V8 together to a W16 and quad-charging it is brilliant! Show me another 1000hp+ engine that's reliable, well balanced, and most importantly road legal.

If they're legal or not depends on the regulations of each country, but everyone knows 1000hp is a piece of cake with a Toyota 2JZ or a Nissan RB26. Then we got the Zenvo, Ultima Maxximus or the SSC Ultimate, cars that were born to be driven hard, not for going shopping in Monaco.

I don't mean that's philosophy is wrong, but I just don'k like it and that's why I don't want a Veyron in my garage.

LMFAO

Yes, 2jz's and Rb26's can make 1000hp with relative ease (And i use that word loosely, because 1000hp out of any 6cyl engine is a tough task)

But reliably? Thats some kind of joke, right?
Quote from squidhead :

This atrocity?

I doubt you both owned a BMW before (and I mean a real one, without any particular American chief designer's touch to it)

Noticing that after two years. LOL! squidhead, you've been such a dumb man (oh wells you still are).
I doubt you have never been in a bmw before! I still think e60 is an awesome car. My father owns one. ->"Well you haven't been on M5"--> this.

Come on, they're Japanese, they never break
Actually there's quite a lot of German in the 2JZ, or rather the JZA80 in general. I'm not sure about the Skyline, but it's probably the same story there
Quote from NitroNitrous :Come on, they're Japanese, they never break

While that might have been true when they were new, not so much these days.

Rb26's and 2jz's are starting to get old, so making bigger power without a rebuild is generally walking a fine line, all comes down to how well the engine was treated..

Feel free to point out anything german about the 2jz, and/or Supra...

Not exactly fast on thinking yourself I see. Well Tomba, you've always been (and don't worry, still are) quite an clueless tasteless and bland person. And about your doubts, yep, never before have I been in a BMW, let alone drive one....

except owning a E30 325 IX as a first car...... and then a E36 328 as a third one..... and then having a E38 750 iL for a month, that my friend left with me while he was in UK.... and a E34 M5 I've test driven back when I was working at a used car dealership back when I was 21.... and a E39 M5 a few months after that, and I haven't EVER driven a E46 325 that one of my ex girlfriends had... except when I was driving it to work 5 times a week....and those are just tips of the iceberg, I've been in quite a LOT BMW's over the years, so yep, you sure got me there, never before have I even SEEN a BMW... except that I have...

And yeah "Chris Bangle designed BMW's are awesome because I say so and my father owns one" doesn't mean it's true, it means you and your father both are boring, bland and tasteless.

And about your list, it's frankly pathetic, your chosen "timeless classics" are re-defined every 2 years judging by your "current list". None of those matter, you should just admit to yourself that you don't know cars that actually matter, you just whore your allegiance to the car you've seen last on the interwebs. If that's not enough of a reason for you to understand how wrong you are, you should add "ignorant" to the list of names I've called you.

I hope now you're happy you replied and so nicely PM'ed me a link to your post where you try and insult me, with a request to reply.
Thank you for using Squidhead's ranting services, and remember, you want somebody to shit all over you, nobody does it better than Squid
Well you didn't shit all over me so I'm quite disappointed in you
You know that people has their own opinions? So, all the people who like E60 have a boring taste? Ah. Thanks for letting me know
Quote from Klutch :Feel free to point out anything german about the 2jz, and/or Supra...

Only thing I'm certain about is the gearbox. Wiki also suggests that
Quote :Final development of the 2JZ-GTE was outsourced to German engineering firm Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH for refinement to meet production car homogolation requirements set forth by the former All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship.

but, well, it is Wikipedia
