OK this is the best card for LFS with the in car camera i get almost 100fps and the TV view i get 69.3fps with the lastest driver 169.23 i think my computer is setup like this
AMD 4800+ X2 2.5Ghz
2Gb Ram
Asus Nvidia 8500GT overclocked to 800mhz
with a crap motherboard from Acer:riceboy:

buy it from here. I sure did http://www.newegg.com/Product/ ... aspx?Item=N82E16814121094
The best card? I'm upgrading my card from a 8800Gt to a 8500gt

Thank's for the review!
It's actually a decent card, it will run older games very well, and maybe, some newer ones. But honestly it only seems great when upgrading from integrated graphics, or a D3D8 card. It uses DDR2 memory, which really hurts. I had a NX8500GT 512MB and it worked great for Doom 3, LFS, games like that. Those frame rates are most likely your cpu running away with it.
If your card manufacturer has some kind of step-up program, consider a 8600GT OC, or 8600GTS. In any case, since it was cheap, you can do what I did, when I had my older system I wanted to play the Quake Wars demo, it struggled, I used Riva Tuner 2.0 and overlcocked the hell out of it, got a good 10% increase, still not so good, but for the price, may as well squeze every frame ya can, that is, if you play other games. If you're just a simmer I would leave it be, plenty for LFS. Anyways ya can't beat the price, for a new item with a warrenty.
8500GT and 8600GT(s) are budget/midrange/multimedia cards, dont expect to high performance from them, that why i bought my 8800GTS
8600GT/8600GTS aren't that bad nor that cheap!

The 8600GTS can run every single game fine.

So?

My x1600 Mobility gets about the same FPS.
What graphics settings and resolution are you using? Cause I mean, I'm using an 8600GTOC and have it maxed out, 4xAA, 16X AF at 1680x1050 and maintain 120-170 fps, but low as 70's with full field of AI.
Anways you must have a damn good processor, I'm curious.

I'll stick with my 8800GTS 512 thanks
Out of preference, i'd just prefer 2 3570 Ati Beasts, or 2 8800 Ultra in SLI....Maybe the 8800GT is best value for money and stuff...?
i'd go for the 2x8800Ultra or wait for the 9600GX2

Why my 8800GT (with e8400) makes only 92 FPS? (and no matter what i do it stays at 92 ... so full Ai or 32 racers dont slow it not even a bit ... and my FPS restriction isnt at 90 FPS
damn .... it is still restrictions foult .... at 100FPS restriction it stayed at 92 .. but then i put restriction off and guess what...

full AI at start ... 135 FPS, in race 205 + fps
