I would say that since the monkey and I are both in the same universe that neither is truly caged. Now if the monkey was somehow beyond the event horizon of a Black Hole without being crushed into the singularity I would say the monkey is caged. But then you could argue that just because the monkey is in a different universe that is smaller, does that mean he is caged?
My answer is that we are all ultimately caged inside our own and the universes inevitable destruction, so nobody should really give a **** about Zoo's or bars.
