Why don't you guys use some anti-aliasing? You don't need to have a supercomputer... I have nearly 4 years old computer and I'm still playing LFS with 4xFSAA. LFS is just one of those games that looks like crap without any FSAA or AF, maybe due the vector based gfx engine or something like that.
