Yes you can have LFS as a portable folder, but you'll have to activate your license everytime you plug your USB on a new system.

Not that much of a problem i think. Also it saves all of your settings.

You only get so many unlcoks and they restock at a slow-ish rate. You could run out of unlocks.

Hi, since my actual PC is from work and I'm not allowed to install stuff, I need my copy of LFS to be portable.

As I have read here, it's simply done by copying the installed folder to a USB stick and downloading into an alternative PC, running it and "consuming" one of the extra activations.

Is it simply like that? How many activations do I get in total when buying my license?

Any advice is very welcome Smile
Thanks!

Initially you will be granted 3 unlocks. In addition, you get an additional unlock available every friday, provided you do not already have 2 unlocks available. So unless you are having severe problems with your computer, you should be fine and always able to unlock LFS again after a reinstallation of Windows for example, or when you buy new computer parts or a whole new computer.
Unless they're lacking in their IT dept., the company should easly see you're trying to run an unauthorised executable. Thought, what kind of job you've got that doesn't gets you purchasing a laptop? As we know, for LFS, it doesn't even have to be brandnew.

I agree 100%! I'm actually already all in with SimRacing (rFactor, LFS, iRacing, ACC...) and I'm trying to get a friend to get this beautiful racing sickness as well, with a great sim like LFS and at reasonable pricing.

We'll be both getting our LFS licenses together if I get it to run on his PC.

Thanks for your answers and wish me luck haha
