A little more info.......

SimRaceStore.com was created to help eliminate the need to develop and maintain a "seperate" website for smaller companies, giving those company owners more time to focus on what matters......the products. All Store owners can develop their own custom web page inside SimRaceStore.com with a simple WYSIWYG editor. All SimRaceStore members and store owners will benefit from marketing campaigns we will be running in “other” media sources to help expose their storefronts to bigger audiences in new industries. SimRaceStore.com will also be running Contests and Events with prizes to give away throughout the remaining year (must be a registered member to qualify).

Another reason we created SimRaceStore.com was to give todays talented Sim Racing "painters" a place to display and sell their own paint schemes for all racing titles. "Painters" can do this through their own buy it now listings or bid-style auctions........ all in their own fully customizable storefronts and profile page. Painters then display their work for the world to see and browse through......then....If on-looking shoppers like what they see in the uploaded example pics, they can purchase that paint scheme for their own use. After the payment clears to the seller, file(s) are then securely delivered through encrypted links to the buyer. The links will then expire 24 hours after downloading. All transactions are handled through through PayPal servers and all major forms of payment are accepted. It's simple and easy. So dig into that folder of skins you have and possibly turn them into cash!

Another useful feature of SimRaceStore.com is the ability for members to be able to list a wanted ad for just about anything to all the Artists, Stores and Members. Whether it be for a custom painted Gulf Racing livery for your next racing season or a cnc cut sheet of carbon fiber to mount that Pro Sli-board onto. Whatever your looking for, the SimRaceStore.com wanted ads are definitely were your going to find that new or used goodie you need to keep getting those Wins.

Here is a 4 day (96 hour) %-100 OFF Voucher Code too, so you can upgrade all of your opening listings and get maximum exposure for the Grand Opening launch if your interested in selling anything.

Building USB plug and Play external HUD. I need advice please.

i found this on youtube yesterday while building my kart simulator. Im sure you all have seen this app. Its an external HUD that you can put on an external monitor. its called SIM_Monitor here> http://kurenai.main.jp/gtinfo/inf8/inf8.cgi very easy to use and very nice looking. but i have a couple simple Q's......

Does anyone have any advice on changing the shape or the "skin" of the "lcd" SIM_Monitor creates? I could not find any .dds files or anything that i can edit in any of its folders. i found the config settings but no media or visual files? What am i missing?
Im making a molded case similar to the "AIM" one for karting in the photos. I want to be able to plug it in a usb or maybe even a 4th monitor? I have an old case that im casting and then trying to source a lcd small enough to fit in the unit. The lcd in the picture below is square so thats why i need the skin to make it fit on a square-ish screen.

any ideas on how or what to use for a small lcd? i thought cell phone or Smartphone? lcd photo frame? or mini lcd from car? any ideas before i frakenstein a screen and ruin it?

Maybe even an ipod touch to make the touch screen work? i could grab my wifes......hmmmmnnnnn

dont FLAME ...i searched.

i tried it and it does not work. the car stops as soon as i push on the brake....barely 10% pushed and the car comes to a stop. i even got the car coasting up to 10 mph and just tapping the brakes it stills skretches to a halt.

i even tried pushing the brake 75% down, then clicking unlock, recalibrate axis, then finish depressing the brake the rest of the way. then relock it and still the car will not roll if i even barely tap the brakes.

im trying it leaving the pits at BL1 with the XFG (my favorite car) down the hill b4 you get on the track.

maybe im being picky but i thought this should work.

What does the C mean next to the axis line?

i cant find anything on this.

thanks again

- cup holder for lots of drinking and driving.

i used to own a custom car shop for years and cant wait to wait to build a complete dash/interior style like the post above me (wow wtf im nameless....very very nice)

next setup is in the works already....literally
- triple 24" monitors mounted on one adjustable stand.

HELP PLEASE.....leo bodnars USB and home made "nixim" brake mod

i just got the leo bodnars USB adapter to hook up my g25 pedals. I made a "nixim" brake mod out of some rubber i got.
13mm x 13mm x 29-30mm (long).
It works perfect. I love the feeing and recommend it very highly. the feeling is very similar to a real cars progressive brake pedal. I now understand what threashold braking means.

The leo bodnars USB g25 pedal adapter is very nice, as i can see now how little 256 steps on the pedals was not very smooth. they are now instantly about a 1000 steps each now. wow. SOOOOOOO much smoother braking AND accelerating. I'm braking much, much later and cutting times everytime i hit the track.

BUT.......

i am trying to setup the dead zones and sensitivity for the "brake mod" like the nixim gentleman was talking about but when i use the logitech profiler it doesnt affect the pedals because they are independent from the steering wheel now. the pedals and controller dont show up in logitech 5.02 profiler under controllers. i can adjust the brake axis and stuff but again....the pedals are not part of the wheel anymore. hhhhmmmmmnnnnn.........

I even tried DIView and DXtweak for the dead zones and it appears to work but when you start LFS i dont think they are there (the dead zones i mean). I tried the "put the car on a hill and let it roll test" with no sucess at all. the car always stops as soon as i press the pedal as if there is no dead zone. i look over to my 2nd screen and diview and dxtweak show the dead zone clearly working.

Can you even set dead zones with LFS? Is it because Windows XP and direct X?

should it show the dead zone on the on-screen virtual pedals?

I ask this because sometimes i brake with my left foot and want the dead zone so i dont kill speed in the corners. i like the idea of the brakes not coming on strong until i hit the resistance of the rubber mod in the pedals.

Please any links or help would be amazing.

If anyone needs help with sizing, stiffness or sourcing rubber for your own mod i would love to help out........its the software stuff that always gets me.

Thank VERY much you all have been amazing.

looking for info on teams and how to maybe get more serious about racing this sim.

My name is Kevin West and im from Saginaw, MI USA
nick name is Kevin West
User name devotid
IMAC 2.8mhz running bootcamp 50-60fps
2600 pro HD
logictech diving pro (PS3)
full cockpit with all the goodies (post pic later)
Im 30 years old and own a small skateboard manufacturing company here in the states. www.devotid.com
Im a retired RC car racer of about 15 years that competed all over the world in many different classes of racing. I ran for a few of the "big companies" and did quite well finishing in the top 10 at nationals a few years in a row. Im fast and consistant. very wise in race theory and tuning.

i raced virtual rc for a year and never got into it. blagh!

well this LFS thing was different.....hhahaha

day 1 download demo....
day 2 S1 license
day 3 logitceh driving force wheel (PS3)
day 4 full license S2
day 5 cockpit ,racing seat, surround sound, seat rumblers
havent stopped since.

I am also a full size car painter and photoshop expert so skinning has been Way cool. i cant wait to do all of the cars with some clean scemes. the graphics are so clean looking and when you "paint" a car on photoshop, you dont have to pick paint from your cuticles for days. haha
I have only done these two attached so far but plan to do MANY MANY more.

sorry for babbling

My QUESTIONS are.....

How do i enter some bigger races? and are there any stateside timezones?

Do companies or TEAMS "pick up" guys that are fast and consistant?

How can i "help " a team besides standing on podiums? Skins? setups? building hardware(cockpits, monitors, guages, etc)? What does it consist of?

do i have to run someone elses paint scheme?

Oh and were the hell can somebody get some good tuner style racing?

i like the XFG and XFR so far.

Sorry so many questions but i couldnt find a specific area to ask so many darn Q's

Thanks for ANY info and i would love some invites to see if i really am fast or i just think so. haha
