Also If anyone uses Google Calendar (and you should) then search for a public calendar called LFSBC Beginner Cup to add all the races to your calendar.

Done.

Very nice.

You also have over 1200 miles BTW

Great!

I just checked, and I actually have 74 SS points, so I'll be signing up soon.

One other question, does anyone know what 8.00pm BST works out to in Pacific Standard time (GMT - 8:00)?

Thanks

For the rookie class, does 100 SS points satisfy both the 1st and 2nd criteria? In other words, If I've done nothing but score 100 SS points, can I join?

Thanks
Guilty as charged

I'm an absolute newbie who races on CTRA SS1, and I crash a lot. I do, however, at least run a few laps offline to familiarize myself with the course; and I do my best to stay out of everyone's way.

Ideally, I would do all of my learning offline, but the multi-player experience is much more entertaining, and I enjoy the chat.

Right now, I'm almost invisible to the other drivers because I'm so slow and I keep an eye out for the blue flags. The problems going to come when I'm fast enough to keep up with the pack, and I bet it's drivers at that level that are causing the most frustration. I don't see it as avoidable, and the level 1 servers seem the ideal place for people to learn how to drive with others around them. If there's a better server for someone like me, let me know.

Quote from Dalek0220 :So, what your saying is:
If I made a KY2 folder in my setup folder, and fired up LFS, only my KY2 setups would be there?

Sorry, but I don't really understand.

Not exactly.

If you associate .set files (or the others) as described by Scawen, the actions he detailed will be performed.

If you have a bunch of setups for the car in the setup folder, they all will be there within the LFS program, regardless of the active track. What I'm going to do is keep the "setup" folder empty, and click on the setups I need for the next session depending upon the car, track, and distance I intend to race. The .set file association does nothing more than copy the file you click (or double-click) into the setup folder. If it's already there, you'll be so advised.

I hope that made sense.

Bottom line, whatever is in the setup folder will be available for the car you are driving, regardless of the track you are driving on. My intended technique of emptying the folder regularly and clicking on the .set files as they are needed will do nothing more that limit the list of available setups for the active car depending upon the track I intend to drive on. If you don't mind selecting the appropriate setup file from a list that contains setups for different tracks, then nothing needs to be done. For me, I've downloaded hundreds of .set files, and I need to organize them outside LFS. Enabling the .set file association in order to copy the files I need for a particular track, car, and distance is helpful, but if you can keep track of all of your setup files without configuring the associations, you don't need to worry about it.

Hope that helps.

I've been trying to organize my setup files, and have begun putting them in separate folders for each track. I thought it would be cool if I could click on on the file and have LFS start, so I associated the file with LFS.exe .

Instead of LFS starting, you get something better. The file is copied into the setup folder automatically! This is extra nice. Now, I can keep the setup folder clean, and just click on the setup file(s) I want to use for that session.

On a similar note, are there any external setup editors floating around? I'd like to be able to view and edit multiple setups at the same time. Thanks

Quote from Victor :ok i've swapped them.

It looks like the data's been swapped, but the "Front" and "Rear" captions have not.

When an .spr file is downloaded from then analyzer - LFS gives an "Invalid Header" error when selecting the file for replay. The file is OK when it's downloaded directly from the hotlap chart, so it's just a small inconvenience.

This was a big disappointment for me. I bought my S2 license mainly because I wanted to race the F1 car online, but when I connected to the S2 host list, no one was racing it.

Of course, I couldn't do half a lap without spinning, but that's beside the point. I guess that's why leagues are the way to go with this car.

Thank you J@tko.

It's weird I couldn't find it in a search. I even used Google Advanced Search. Go figure. Thanks again!

How do you set the font color for the driver name? I searched, and came up empty.

Thanks

Edit: Damn - the answer was 3 posts down. Sorry.

Hi all!

I've been an F1 fan for a few years, and for fun I Googled "racing sims" and found LFS. I downloaded the demo, and have been playing with a mouse for about a week. (I can do 1:25 laps with the BMW! :shy Well, today, I decided to get a wheel. I almost bougt a G25, but thought better of it and got a MS Sidewinder FF USB on Ebay for 20 + 15 shipping. I'll buy my S2 license when my wheel arrives.

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to online gaming, but I'm looking forward to racing some fellow beginners. I'll be looking through the forum, and reading the manual, but any tips that may be useful to someone like me are appreciated. Thanks a lot.
