Quote from Anathema :FBM "LFS Skin Database"

Just for promoting a great site, you all could have a look at.
http://skins.lfscommunity.lv

I love the skin! And I like the site too. I've gotten a few skins from there. I will be using this skin in-game.

Thank You Anathema!

Quote from joen :I didn't say that. I said that I think a career mode is a bad idea. Your logic escapes me, because I didn't say LFS should have an arcade mode only. I don't know where you got that idea.

LFS is an online racing simulator, not a real life simulator. Otherwise we could start simulating engine revision, cleaning the pitbox, arranging catering for the team, etc. Yes I am stretching.

Ok, point(s) conceded. I was mainly trying to be a little on the harsh side, and stretching to do it myself . Because I wanted to get try and get across that I thought you were perhaps being a little harsh on the OP by calling the idea silly. But it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

I will say that when it comes down to it I do like having the ability to choose/drive any car online. But I don't think an option for a Career Mode would be all that bad nor silly, really. Again, perhaps if the Single Player aspect of the game were ever to have more focus put on it it would be cool to have it in there. As far as online simming, is there a possibility that leagues could restrict you to lower class cars until you work your way up(for official league races)? I've only had the sim for a very short time but it looks as if servers can restrict what cars are available, so I think the possibility is there. Do I think it would be good to unequivocally impose such a restriction to all online players? No, not really. I just think a Career Mode would be a nice 'option', thats all. I did vote Yeah! and I still stand by my vote.

Cheers joen and all

Quote from Shotglass :

actually thats sort of how you're supposed to shift in the fbm

I just wanted to say that sounds a little strange to me. I mean, I can see putting your hand on the shifter a little before you are going to shift, but not having to start pushing up(or down) on it while you still have the hammer down. I wouldn't see any need or even desire to push on the shifter until the very moment I lifted the throttle a little.

Quote from joen :sounds like a bad idea.

... leave silly career modes to arcade racing games.

Interesting point of view. I have seen sims that attempt to 'simulate' real life by offering a choice of Career Mode, where you have to start off with lower performance equipment and work your way up to the higher perfomance stuff by proving yourself. Or you can select Arcade Mode whereby you can have/do anything you want.

Although there may be some reasons not to have Career Mode I voted 'Yeah!', because I don't think the idea is 'silly' in the least. In fact, I feel that saying this idea is 'silly' is like saying that this sim should never ever have a Career Mode and should only have Arcade Mode!!! To me that seems pretty silly.

If more work were to ever be concentrated on the single player aspect of the sim, I vote Yeah!/Yes for a Career Mode in Single Player. And I feel it would be a welcome addition to Multiplayer, Career Mode servers and Arcade Mode servers.

If we are talking about a sim here, and thereby attempting to simulate real life, would someone care to explain how it works? Is there ever a possibility to start off racing a Formula or Grand Prix car right off the bat, if you have enough money in your bank account? Or is it absolutely required to start off in lower classes and prove yourself first?

Regards

Quote from E-Z.BasTi :Nearly same Problem here!

I am using Driving Force Pro. The Game shows me "5 Game-Controllers detected". But i only have one, the DFP.

Ok, on the right side he show me my axis (wheel, throttle, brake) and they are working. But if i put the throttle or something else, the pedal-balks are not moving! Same with the wheel, i turn it, axis move, but the wheel in game is not moving.

Pretty much the same problem here. I have a Saitek Eclipse USB Keyboard, a Logitech MX518 USB Mouse, and an MS Sidewinder USB FFB Wheel.

I set it up in 'Live for Speed S2 0.5X ALPHA' and it works great. I have had this game for just a few days and am not sure if that version is X10, but I assume it is.

I copied the game to a new folder and installed the X30 patch. When I go to the Controller page in Options, the red rectangle at the bottom of the screen does not move across the half circle. If I press the 'Axes / FF' button there are yellow/blue lines. If I move the Steering Wheel the yellow/blue line moves for 'X-Axis'. If I press the Throttle and Brake pedals the yellow/blue line moves for 'Y-Axis'. But the red rectangle no longer move across the half circle at the bottom of this page and the Wheel/Pedals do not function in the game.

I even tried deleting the 'cfg.txt' file and letting X30 create a new one from scratch to see if that would fix the problem, but it didn't help.

Both versions of the game say "5 Game-Controllers detected".

Without my Wheel working I won't be playing this X30 version and will just delete it.

But I hope that me and other people reporting this problem helps out.

Cheers

Quote from Lateralus :No way man! You're the same OneTinSoldier from WOLF / BF1942 / Forgotten Hope, right? Remember me?

If you're going to be playing today, PM me and I can get on WOLF TS and give you some pointers.

OMG! Hello Lateralus, yes, it's me!! Good to see you. I still played some Forgotten Hope now and then on the Damned Priests server but it's been about 4 months since the last time I played it. Although FH1 still rocks I usually play BF2 or 2142 anymore, while anxiously awaiting FH2.

I would like to play LFS today, but I'm afraid that some things have come up that will preclude me from doing much playing today. Such as, we are going to be putting up some more Christmas lights outside. And then we are having an appraisal done on this house Monday and so I have to do a bunch of cleaning to make it look nice. But I will PM you in the near future so we can get together on TS and hopefully a Server. I look forward to it!

If you need setups head over to http://setupfield.teaminferno.hu/.
Put all the setups in Lfs main folder/data/settings And then your ready Some of the setups can be hard to drive, and very sensible, so be carefull with the trottle.

Well thank you 'The Very End'! I could definitely use some setups. However, when I clicked your link I received an error...

Perhaps the problem with the site will be fixed if I try back later?
