Hi guys, thanks very much for taking the time to have a look

Thanks for the feedback too, i will certainly try and take it on board! I knew my steering was costing me some time, and the entry to the first corner i have found difficult but slowly getting there! Look forward to racing you guys sometime!

hmmm, wasnt sure which file to attach!

The SPr file should be attached to this one, although never having done this before not sure if that is right either

best lap is lap 11 if anyone can be bothered to watch that far

Hey guys,

Been playing for just over a week on the demo and have finally started to improve a little.

My best lap with the XFG is 1.38.79, which I am fairly pleased with although i know its a long way short! It is hopefully attached to this post.

Main point of this is I was just wondering what areas i need to improve on to gain time. I have a pretty fair idea of where i could make up more time, but just wanted other peoples opinions on it too.

Am just using one of the default race setups and using the keyboard.

Thanks in advance

(Hopefully getting S2 tomorrow when i get paid!)

Quote from Aiden McGeady :Just to add, if you're on a tight budget, you don't even need an expensive wheel in order to play the sim, any wheel that works at least decently will do. Then you can move on to the best ones as you feel the need for even more precision.

A wheel is like a musical instrument, you don't need a top class guitar if you've just started playing the guitar.

Think i will definitely need to buy a new wheel, the wheel i have at home is very old and isnt USB so had to buy a gameport to usb adaptor to even use it but these means i cant configure the wheel properly.

Will just stick to keyboard for a while. Still only around 1:41 but had a few online races last night and watched a couple and it was great fun. Some great drivers out there!

Still not managed to have a go with the wheel yet, but got my time down to around 1:41 after about 15 laps yesterday. Still know where I can improve my times so hopefully get it down even further tonight and maybe even have a play on a demo server for the first time.

Been struggling along with my keyboard for the last week or so now, just round Blackwood in the XFG.

Slowly getting better and better, but still only around 1.43 as my best.

Will be hooking my old wheel up to the PC tonight so hopefully that will help me get my times down a bit!

thanks for the responses

Had not really thought about using the mouse to be honest, might give it a try tonight!

Will probably just stick with joystick though as i have used that for other racing games on the PC. Will see how it goes anyway.

Still need plenty of practice before racing online, best lap around Blackwood is still only 1:43 or so
Joystick or Keyboard?

Hi,

Im new to LFS, and still only have a demo version. Dont really want to buy a license until I have got either a new wheel or a gameport to usb convertor for my current wheel.

My question is : which is better option without a wheel, keyboard or joystick?

hello all, just downloaded the game and only got the demo license at the minute. Still not particually code and only using keyboard () at the moment but hope to get better with practice and a wheel
