It would be wonderful to see something similar to STCC coming up in the near future, but for everybody's peace of mind, I'd suggest waiting a week or two. Feelings need to calm down, rants need to be read to mirrors etc, and patches need to be done.

Becky, I salute you for your hard work! I hope you can look back on the STCC League in fond memories when everything is over. I hope your RL works out perfectly for you, gods know you deserve it. I wish you a happy future.

Sam, if you, and the rest of UKCT, manage to get something running, I'm sure you'd get as much support as Becky has have from the drivers.

Everyone else, go offline and perfect your sets, and lets meet on some server somewhere and have d%¤" good races! I hope to meet all you crazy bustards ( ;P ) in the near future, I just hope I find a car I can drive at the time. A.Yuukuno will still fight you for that 6th place every time I can!

Me? Well, I'll stay low for a week or two, gonna take a vacation rather soon as well. After that, I'll see if I can find some obscure server to race on, my RB4 skills should be up to par by then (still suck at the others.)

Goodbye STCC, may I meet your reincarnation.

Quote from Alive Ghost :I am using a keyboard and having immense problems driving RWD's!!
Any tips??

Quote from Christian Held :Get a wheel. Honestly I tried it once for fun and it was undrivable. Drove a lot with mouse when I was a demo racer but get yourself a wheel.

It makes much more fun to drive and you'll get more confidence in the car which is absolutely important when you drive online.

Well, a wheel is not needed really. I drove the XRG rather well (within 3-4s of WR) on KBn. It just takes loads of training, and then some. In fact, some of the faster times on BL1 with XRG have been set with KB.
Wheel is an easier way to be consitent as far as I'm concerned.

As has been stated in other threads, you have to have a better suited set on KB, as in better suited for the KB-car-track combo, not only car-track.

Which leads to a slight problem with driving the XRG (most experience). The sets from inferno often have locked diff, and positive toe, neither of which I like when driving on KB. Usually I set the toe to a negative number, and switch to LSD. Might also have to take a look at the brakes.
Having brakes set up to lock the tires into skidding the car can be very fast, but also hard to drive.
I used the inferno sets, and other sets I got donated, as a base for my own sets.

As a sidenote, I have abandoned the XRT in favour of the RB4, at least the latter speaks to me.

Gonna add my 2 pence. I learned to drive the XFG rather effeciently within 3days, it took me more than 2weeks to drive the XRG properly. Although, I only spent 4-5h per day driving.

The XFG and the XRG are basically each others opposites. The biggest difference is in the way one counters oversteer/understeer. I suggest attempting to race a RallyX track to learn countering properly. It's hard, but when you can get around RallyX tracks without spinning you will be able to drive the car rather well on tarmac. What RallyX teaches you is gentle pedalwork, not too hard braking/accelerating, nor to soft. Too little throttle can result in a spin.

A last note, sets might be different when driving KB/W/M. A set I loved with KB, is less than perfect on W.

I find the language filter rather useful, it's nice to read a chat that's not infested by swearing (been to WoW).

As far as a filter on grammar goes, how on Earth is that supposed to work? Here we have people from all over the world racing the same servers, far from all know proper English, fewer know to type it.
One of those I race against regularly on 1a can barely be understood, but it works. A grammar filter on those sentences would either not let it through at all, or distort it even worse.
The idea of basically muting someone for not being English/American is ridiculous.

I'll continue the trend, according to $license I apparently have gold atm, even though I had copper just 20min ago.

Just puttered about the new site, and I'm afraid it's lacking.

In IE7 on 1024*768 I can't get everything to fit onscreen. The ads at the bottom of the page overlap with the video (and a few other things as well), and I don't like the menues, I can't see all available links from Main page, I have to switch to any other to read the complete menues.

As far as colour-scheme goes, I don't know if it's fitting for STCC. I quite like orange and black, but I feel it doesn't fit the much brighter feeling of STCC. I can't come up with a better alternative, but I doubt I would've used black+orange.

Ok, link-tree. I find it annoying that I have to go from right to left in order to read what menue drop-downs available to choose from.

Generally, fixed menues would be preferrable, coupled with a brighter colour-scheme. Although, the colour-scheme does grow onto you after a while, as does the menues. But I shouldn't have to spend 10min to familiarise myself with the page before getting the hang of it, especially not if I'm a to-be advertiser.

And a last note, the background pictures look pixeled on my resolution.

Quote from 11SuLLy11 :you must be doing something ,play anysports or even any interests ?

Naah, I'm mostly stuck at my PC. I hate physical exhertion with a vengeance, and the main interest lies in Anime... Well, I have work, but that's an other matter entirely.
Oh btw, I'm a mailman, I drive narrow winding forest roads all day. I get paid for practice. ;P

Another pure being entering the game, try not to destroy my innocence too quickly. ;P
I come from Gran Turismo 1-4, and, most recently, WoW... Let's just leave it at that. But, as is evident, I have no social life, so I hope I'll fit right in.
I downloaded the game yesterday, got a license and a steering wheel today... Let's just see if I can make the darn wheel fit the desk... *Brings out a saw*
