Quote from deggis :3h_box_seqi sequential gearbox with ignition cut <-- (ignition cut, that means throttle cut?)

Hopefully, that will mean a nice little bang when the throttle goes back on. I'm making this up as I go along, of course, because I know precisely diddly.. but one of the things I really wanna hear in LFS is that sound. http://www.getpissed.co.uk/alb ... tember_2006_036-1%7E0.wmv
Ignition cut is what they use in real life, throttle cut isn't possible in most racing series since the rules often require mechanical throttle operation.. And no, they aren't the same thing
im just sitting here thinking about how much scawen and the other devs must be loving watching people try and spot changes, i know i would
For sure, James! LOL! I can imagine it's great fun for them, and also for the beta testers!
uuummmm, *me rum chin* what is sam trying to say here

You are right, it is not the same thing. But it achieves the same results. They both unload the drive train by reducing/interrupting the power produced by the engine.

VW uses it on the new R36 Passat, ignition cuts on 4 cylinders when shifting (on the DSG model)
Quote from deggis :These lines from the language file ARE NEW:

3h_tip_rtcg Release the throttle when changing gear to avoid overheating the clutch

3h_transmis Transmission

3h_box_hpat H-pattern gearbox

3h_box_bike motorbike gearbox

3h_box_sequ sequential gearbox

3h_box_seqi sequential gearbox with ignition cut <-- (ignition cut, that means throttle cut?)

3h_box_semi paddle shift gearbox

3h_seq_hpat sequential operation of H-pattern gearbox

3h_thisnost This car does not have a starter motor

Best news: brake help (and auto clutch of course) are there, but auto blip and cut ARE MISSING! :woohoo:

Incase the names names haven't changed to something weird, I'm 100% sure because I just checked. Btw it's going to be stupid if keyboard/mouse users don't have to do manual cutting, at least so far if keyboard is chosen as a controller, those have been always turned on and the options in the player menu have been invisible...

These were already mentioned tough, in a way or another there's going to be "show racing line"... the question is whether it means only showing the line AI's using:

3h_noraceln racing line display is not available

3h_showline 4 - show racing line

These are also new because I double checked it from the patch X language file.

Ahum care to explain? An Netbike conversion included? Are we not only getting a new car.
The MRT has a bike engine and gearbox, and we've had that for years now.
I like the "no starter motor" very much... Imagine stalling the engine in an FO8 after spinning in a league race...

<-- not an open wheel spectator fan....

What would happen IRL if a car stalled on the track? Would it be started via push vehicle? or just hauled away out of the race?

Your race is over.
Except if you're Lewis Hamilton, you can use Jedi mind trick and get in control of the nearest crane.

Ahem - He didn't break any rules, nor did he stall!

He bended the rules (a bit!) to his advantage
Depends on what racing series it is, some allow push starts, some don't. But mostly your race is over if you spin and stall.

Hmm, yeah I forgot that
is the engine is running and the car is in a dangerous place it is allowed to be put back on track in f1, you should have a go at him for knowing the rules
The laptop in the pits. is it new or is it me who didn't notice it before?
was there and love your avatar

Also, the Forumla BMW is a bike engine too.

I don't think the gearbox on it is a bike gearbox though.
im not sure, it must have to be a specialist gearbox then cos most bike engine classses use bike boxes cos they go with the engine

According to Wiki:

"The engine was sourced from BMW's motorcycle division: it is a near-standard K1200RS motorcycle engine, in an inline four-cylinder configuration, with a capacity of 1171cc, and a power output of 140hp. Drive is through a single-plate clutch and a six-speed sequential gearbox, produced by Hewland. The complete car weighs 455kg without fuel and driver.[22]"

Good point, it's a hewland sequential.
Quote from ZORER :The laptop in the pits. is it new or is it me who didn't notice it before?

It's a new thing. They've made the boxes larger to fit two cars like on all other tracks.

Btw, saw a video from S1 yesterday and I had totally forgotten that the pits where on the other side of the road back then!

Post spotted changes in Video!
