Wind Wind Wind
I am all for realism and getting people up to speed with adjusting and compensating for wind. I think it's a great idea, but at this point in time, the execution of that idea needs some tweaking.

When the wind changes direction every race that you are at that track, for however many races there are before a change to a new track, that is a bit much. You spend more time trying to adjust to changing wind conditions, trying to figure out which way the wind is blowing in corners that don't have indicators like blowing flags, and adjusting your brake points and turn ins, and "Oh my, there are other cars on the track too?"! When you are trying to do that in traffic, with other people trying to compensate as well, you are ASKING for yellow flags, and the associated anger that sometimes comes from that.

Would it not be far better to keep the wind direction and speed relatively static for the 10-15 races in series before transporting to a new track? How about we give people a little time to adjust to one wind speed and direction? I feel they would be able to adjust better and quicker, with less yellow flags flying for everybody. Change the wind direction at that track the next time it comes up in rotation.

Think you can aonly set no wind, low wind or high wind. All the rest is decided by LFS
AFAIK there is only low or no wind after the update today. No high winds anymore.

Doesnt have to be true, though.

It's been discussed at quite some depth many times. Changes today mean that high winds won't happen. This is our compromise following the debate, and it's now set in stone

[edit] we only have influence (not control) over the strength of the wind. We have no control or influence over the direction or variation in direction.
Hey Sam, I appreciate your efforts to curtail the wind. I think it's a step in the right direction.

Sam is now our official wind god and should, from this day forth be known as "Aeolus - King of the Winds" Um, maybe not. It's a bit of a mouthful. I'll get back to ya on that ...

Tony, don't forget that Sam has been renamed into Daisy not long ago, after he started mooing at Becky. And according to specialists, cows are quite well equipped in the winds department.
I always call him Maggie, and he replys and does my biddings when I call him that, so I think he might be confused a bit... <.<
i call hi 'mr.forgot to put fuel in' (if youve seen the bl1r stcc broadcast youl get what i mean)
You know James when your at the end of the thread you can always edit your post instead of double posting Just to get another dig in
Noooooooo!!!!!!!
Why, og WHY did you remove the high wind?
Of course it made racing harder, and made some races..funny, but it was really great. It tested the drivers, and only the best, well good drivers managed to do good lap times.
I canot understand why so many people have a big problem with the wind, if you have unusually high speed on a straight, then you would know that the wind is from behind and you need to take it damn slow in the corner.
Anyway, this is bad for the servers :/ The wind made it more realistic, now it`s back to hotlap mode...
I don't mind driving in the wind, for me it's just the way the wind changes direction every race, which can make picking your braking spot on the first few laps difficult. It's not so much a problem on the tin-tops, but on the aero cars it causes quite a few problems. With high wind on SS1 you would often see the field spectacularly depleted after a couple of laps, which does harm the quality of the races on the whole. I think it's better to limit the wind to low.
