How can I make buttons in LFS?
Hello LFSforum'ers Im trying to make a scoring chart with the new button system, however I have no idea where/how to start.

I have no experience either so, its not going to be easy

I was thinking something like the following:
Note: this would go in the top corner of LFS (image)
Place, Nickname, Car, Click to view stats

and then if you clicked on the button that says "click to view stats" another BIG button would appear with the info like this: (2nt image)

Place: 1
Nickname: [DWLYTS] Dustin (in color if possible)
Username: imthebestracerthereis
Car: XXX
Split 1: X:XX:XX
Split 2: X:XX:XX
Split 3: X:XX:XX
Total Time: X:XX:XX
Bonus: 5000

-and then next down on the list-

Place: 2
Nickname: [DWLYTS] Dave0 (in color if possible)
Username: wildfire083
Car: XXX
Split 1: X:XX:XX
Split 2: X:XX:XX
Split 3: X:XX:XX
Total Time: X:XX:XX
Bonus: 3000

Hope someone understands, and can help
-Dustin

you would need to use the insim for this (of course).

You would need to store all of the split times, and keep a list of connections of who is in the server.

Then, use the BTN packets, to make the buttons . With click ID's . When you get the click Id come through, clear the buttons, and add the user specifiic ones!
Wow, I lost ya

There is like a 90% chance I wouldn't get this :|
I presume that you have a knowledge of how the insim protocol works, right?
Probably the easiest route to programming an InSim app at the moment is to use one of the existing libraries, of which there is InSimLib for .NET, JInSim for Java and luaLFS for LUA. If you look through the forum topics you will find more information on these. Of course you will need to know how to program in either a .NET language, in Java or in LUA to use them.
