Woahh that brings backk soooooo much!!

But looking at the teaser of this new NFS game, "pro street".. i might just enjoy it 4 once!!.. i loved burnout and it looks similar, just with real cars....
I liked Most Wanted because your cars didn't end up full of freakin' 10 pund body kits (I hope you didn't choose 'em) and you had consequences for doing everything...

Maybe I'll see the new one, since Burnout was a really good game too.
The last good NFS was Hot Pursuit 2, and NFS Porche was the better. From NFSU to actual day, is a full rubbish :lfs:

What I don't think people understand is that NFS is an arcade game.

Its meant to be entirely unrealistic, that way it appeals to the masses.

EA want to make money, not create the best game in the world, they're putting in what a majority of the audience want, and if you don't like the game, don't buy it.

The reason that games have being going 'downhill' is because games have been becoming more and more mainstream, and therfore need to appeal to 10 year olds rather than 40 year old racing enthusiasts.

I probably won't buy it, but I'll certainly find some way of playing.
And yes, I probably will enjoy it.

Llew.

Great videos, and great memories they recall. I remember watching a couple of screen shots in a video game magazine (no internet at that time) and saying, WTF!, I want that game!!! I played it a lot and it was hard but fun!

What really pisses me me off nowadays about NFS is when I say "I'm playing an online racing game called Live for speed" to a friend, and then he responds "Ah, Need For Speed? yeah it's a great game!"

Yeah man, it happens to me too

Russians.
The game name was leaked from our country EA webiste and we have nothing common in with Russia at all.We are Czech republic.Seems your geography is not best.

Also there were "leaked" pictures in the Polish game magazine.

Oh I think we all understand it. I probably wouldn't even mind if it was a good one, but it can't even seem to do that right. It's just a hopelessly generic game riding the Fast and Furious wave of silly paint schemes and giant wings.

The sad thing is that it wasn't always an all out arcade racer. The Porsche 2000/Unlimited game was actually quite realistic for it's time, so it's sad to look at the state it's in today if you have played that one. If EA wanted an arcade racer for the masses they should have created a new one instead of ruining the NFS series. That's why most of us who grew up with it hate the new ones with a passion.

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:
I think its because they were getting fewer and fewer buyers, so they went for what the younger people were interested in which was tuning which then after NFSU became a huge hit, then tuning grew, and now its grown to where whoever owns that section of EA is trying to merge the exotics with the tuners hoping everyone would get along, but that isn't so.

Its common for EA to do that so its no big surprise. They are serious when it comes to trends, if the trend is out, they leave it in the dust and shun it.

And yes, for those that don't believe in it, it is possible to tune exotic cars with parts. Also, no it was never possible to beat a porsche or a high end car with a punto.
It's disgrace that you can "rice-up" cars like DB9, honestly, the guy who thought that should be axed!

Even worse, I've seen a guy on fifth gear who produced a chav chariot out of a Roller.

Crime against motoring.
Need for Speed was THE game of my childhood. I spent really some holiday weeks competing against my brother in NFS 4 and NFS Porsche but with Underground and getting
- arcade
- no damage anymore -> why that?
- night-driving only (except Most Wanted, which was surprisingly not as bad as expected but still not really great)

it got pretty non interesting for me. And I also found in LFS a very satisfying and enjoyable alternative
I remember coming home form school and playing my mate at NFS4, I used to let him use the McLaren F1 while I used the BMW Z3, he was total crap so I beat him everytime. Although its fun having a McLaren F1 jump over the top of your car when going over a humpback bridge

*got a flashback*
