Hey, I have S2, but my friends dont. I noticed while playing in the demo I cannot place objects while we are playing.

Howecome, can I fix this? Or simply, the demo doesn't allow it?

If you are playing them, then that means you are in Demo mode, and no... you cannot use the Autocross Editor (or load layouts) in Demo mode. Have to be licensed for that.
