Problem with skin generation in LFS for Prototype 2
Hello,

I'm currently trying to create a skin for the Prototype 2 https://www.lfs.net/files/vehmods/8A8457?skins for my personal use.

I downloaded the PSD file and converted it to PNG to add color in Gimp. However, when I import the PNG into my skin_dds folder, I change the extension to DDS. The skin appears in the game, but the car is completely black. I tried adding color to the entire template to see where the problem was, but the car was still black.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue or point me to a forum where there are explanations on how to create my own skins?

PS: Attached is the PNG file of the car if you'd like to try it out.

Thanks !

You don't have to make a DDS - LFS does that for you.

All you need to do is save your skin as a JPG in the data/skins folder Thumbs up

Any transparency will be shown as black due to the LFS skins format not supporting transparency. If you've saved a project file without merging the layers together it will try to portray the topmost layer as the main level of detail/mipmap, 2nd layer as the second lod, etc etc.

GIMP should be also able to open .psds normally. I've only ran into problems with layer structure/formatting, colour format can be changed in GIMP if needed.
