Default setups in LFS
Hello, I have a suggestion for improvement regarding the default car setups.

As we know, the basic setups are tragically bad, they can't be used for anything, and thus make it very difficult for new players who don't know how to make setups.

New players often join LFS discord to ask for setups, most of the time for FBM @ BL2 which is by far the most popular combo in LFS ( in contention with GTI @ BL2 ), this could be solved with proper basic setups.

That's why I have an idea that I, or even the community, can provide setups that are safe and fast for new players.

One setup for each car that replaces the default ones. Thumbs up LFS

Perhaps a "setups" page similar to mods? Would take a while, something to think about after we finally get the main update.

Who would be providing setups for each car/track? What's a good baseline for "safe and fast"?
Gabor's safe setup means new players spin by turn 2 Big grin
Can't do much worse than the current defaults though, single seaters in particular are very bad
Obviously i wouldnt be sharing the setups i use for league racing, as its very hard to control for new players but could easily rework those to be safer and still be quick

Theoretically LFS could load setups from this: https://www.lfs.net/files/setups

Yep, implementing something in-game to access this setups page would be nice, perhaps just opening the page would be enough. Although there's a fairly small number of setups, and they are named a bit weird for new players to understand. I see a lot of new players joining servers like Beginner FBM and racing using default setups being 5 seconds a lap slower than the top drivers on the grid, then for each newb someone has to explain how to take a setup shared by another player in-game, which gets cumbersome after a while. And most of the time they get very unstable setups that they do not have the experience to drive with and ragequit the game.

Bit of a rant xd sorry
