Quote from Gutholz :There are only two oval tracks, for the longest time there was only one. Still people are doing oval races.
I think there are enough rallyecross tracks (including custom layouts) that there is decent places to race such buggy. It does not need roadtires in my opinion.

I was surprised how much it understeered on asphalt. Not saying if it is bad or unrealistic, honestly I have no idea, and I only tried briefly with mouse. Just when you brake from high speed and turn in a bit...you plow straight ahead. On dirt it handles better. Add some AI drivers on Blackwood Rallye or Fernbay Green, they act very surprised too. Tilt I guess it is due to all the weight at the rear.

Thanks for the answer. Yes, I know about the problems with physics, I can only model. So I would really like a track editor if it ever comes out very soon. I have about 9 simulated tracks for rf1 rallycross and winter ovals, I wanted to transfer them to rf2 but rf2 did not live up to the stated expectations. AC is a good platform, I made one track for it in the winter version, but the physics does not inspire optimism. LFS is the only platform I'm happy with and the mod system is excellent. I even intuitively understand how to model, if there are questions, I will ask. But physics is not my forte.
Through trial and error, I try to balance the properties and dynamics of the car.
I wanted road tires, because you just drive on asphalt, the car is simply uncontrollable. But stepping out of the buggy category belies the look of the car. Therefore, this category of appearance and purpose of the car stops me.

This is the same track that is in the AC. I hope someday to simulate it in LFS

So far, I have started making new 3D models of the gearbox engine and drives. I decided to make a new chassis for the new buggy, from the very beginning the frame, I will try to do all the steps in detail. mounts, engine, cab, etc. plastic body kit.

It will probably be an endless project). I do little. Main hobby is drawing. Modeling work, but LFS with its car mod system took over my free time. Switched from drawing to modeling)

To be honest the original model looked totally good enough to me. Cool
But if you think you can do even better..thats okay too!

Thanks. I am making the second version because different car designs of the same class participate in the cup. There are many different ones. I choose according to what I like. If it turns out well in terms of physics, I will try to equalize both of them in terms of the competitive component. Moreover, different cars will participate in one race, which one they like best. + Some outer parts will overlap each other. I will add hubs to the first version, maybe I will change the engine model.
And if someday there will be a track editor, then there will already be cars for dirt racing)
Updated the car. Hybrid version of the buggy formula.
But the main direction is Buggy.

This is an under-appreciated mod. I'm finding the road version lots of fun to drive.
Can you please add ability to install ROAD tires on the Buggy V2?

Necessarily. I'll just figure out what class of buggy and different classes of tires will be. And then with the update of the first version, for some reason, off-road tires turned off.
In addition, I model the body in more detail, then the skin will be applied.
The concept of renewal.

Hi all!
I had a big break. Almost in a hurry while doing some parts for the buggy, made a mud kart.
Are you interested in riding it? It's a pity there are no flat large land plots, but it's also funny on the grass)

(Dmitry[RUS]) DELETED by Dmitry[RUS] : my error
I think the kart deserves its own thread, it will get confusing otherwise.

On the buggy:
It feels strange if you can adjust downforce in the setup but the chasis without visible wings is selected. You could make it two different cars, like Jake_Blasted did with his historic F1 mods.
Personally I prefer the offroad version without downforce because there are already several openwheel cars for track racing. But no other race buggy mods.

The v2 buggy has mirrored skin-mapping.
I know about downforce, it was an experiment.
Development continues slowly, downforce is removed, and off-road tires will be matched without error. Fixed mirror image skin. in addition, changes will be made to the 3d model.

Thanks for the feedback.
The "v2" buggy gives this error message:
Quote :Cross-texture triangle found in LOD1 - mapping corrected

I did not notice before that there is a "no bodywork" option and just spend some minutes looking at all the details underneath, it is nice.
The two buggies would be good canidates for approval, if minor things are cleaned up and development is more stable. (aereo experimenting is finished etc)
Throw in some default skins and it would be good to go.

I am not sure if the "no bodywork" option should stay: On one hand it is cool to look at the frame and compoments. But it would look rather silly if in a race half the vehicles drive around with no body.
Maybe as compromise one of the configs could be a bit more see-through from the sides.

And maybe have one RWD and one AWD version? Like FXR vs XRR and FZR in GTR class. Gives a bit variety and an "easy" option.
But for dirt it is probably harder to balance than in GTR class because AWD will be such big advantage.
