The online racing simulator
What are your keepers, improvement suggestions and wishlist for next version
Racers, what do you think must be kept, should be improved and would be great if it is added to the next main version of the game.

Here are my thoughts:

Keepers
- Game identity: Game icon, logo, UI colors, UI design (#option, screens, UI element positions, etc)
- All current functionalities (UI and on-race)
- Input device latency, mechanics, usability etc
- Physics, tire model etc
- Car Sounds
- Load times, screen transition times etc
- On-game FPS
- AI skill levels & aggressiveness

Improvement suggestions
- UI resolution
- # of polygons in some cars (i.e splash guards in UF 1000)
- Car's cockpit and interior images resolution
- # of polygons in driver helmet & body
- Driver helmet, suit resolution
- Reply rewind / forward speed

Wish list
- Indicators (not sure if currently available)
- Driver's change gear effect in all views and if possible in replays
- Better damage model (i.e. windscreen/shield, side mirrors breaks)
- Better AI defending position abilities, and overall realism (i.e. mistakes under pressure)
- Track Marshals weaving flags
- One key instant reply (not sure if currently available)
- A track with elevations like Mt Panorama
- RB4 GTR, a sedan, a wagon a SUV and a electric car
- Weather and wipers
- Music streaming service integration for on-car audio
- On-game skin creation and screen shot modules like GT Sport (just for fun).
Nice wish list, What you are asking for requires 2 years of work of 100 developers, I wonder if Scawen could include these in the next release.
I hope the developers keep the keepers and add some of the improvement suggestions.
Keepers? All current tracks, dont delete them, include them in game as oldschool versions.

Saves me headache of running races on old versions.

I wouldn't change much. This is still the best sim all 'round. But;

- more polys for the cars
- remodel driver mesh
- more polys for the helmet
- safety car
- a sporty version of the XRG with sweet tyres
- V8 racing sedan and/or coupe
- choice of rims for the road cars
- slicks for the LX4
- Goodwood
- hill climb/down hill track
- option to disable tyre wear Taped Shut or a spec tyre for drifting
- another path for Fern Bay (most under-rated circuit in LFS).
- better shadows
- Jessica Alba
More cars, more tracks and mods support.
I definitely agree that this game needs more Jessica Alba

Not sure what do you mean by that, but Constance Nunes is good with petrol engines.
Why would you disable tyre wear when its a simulator?
And you probably meant Goodwood, because goodward looks some kind of boot
I am pretty sure that Scawen is the first to admit LFS needs better presentation (graphics), that's why they are putting much efforts into modernizing the core graphic engine.

I could add one or two pretty neat features (important one IMO) which is ingame integration with modern social/streaming platforms, an ingame hub with realtime spectating and news about the game itself, leagues or other organizational events, pretty much like what other massive multiplayer games are doing (like Dota or CS), no other simulations are doing this right.

I think this could make LFS the true and the most modern multiplayer platform for simracing
Keepers:
The server system and multiplayer UI
The physics which in my opinion are still unrivaled.
The great force feedback.
The quick and efficient tuning system.
Core engine sound system, although with improvements.
The awesome VR implementation.

Wish list:
Modding support which I think Scawen gently hinted at in another thread.
Allowing easier implementation of custom car models with UV based texture mapping. Allowing modified suspension geometry, as well as implementing some more suspension styles such as for example live axle suspension.
And also modding support for tracks.

With the graphics update; normal maps. I haven't seen anything suggesting on this being added thus far. But it would help benefit the detail of cars and environments alot.

Maybe in time some PBR material support with metallic colors.
And with PBR support, more advanced skins, allowing more texture maps per skin such as metallicacy maps and roughness maps

- Indicators (not sure if currently available)

Indicators are already available.
- Upload Seat's skin like car or helmet
- Old formule like Lotus 33 5 F1
- RB4 GTR
- UF1300
- Old ford escort like
- Muscle car
- Radical car
- Hillclimb
- Rally forest special like Sherwood in rbr
- Track editor
- Vob mod
- More objects in track editor like tree, spectator, rally pannel,...
- Falling tire rack like previous version
- Crasher "option" he can't touch other cars? Crashers ruins gameplay sometimes...
- Kartcross
- Recreate old golf gti if volkswagen is ok Smile
- Rain
- Jessica Alba too Smile
Guys, before you get carried away too much, just appreciate what is already there in the sim. It looks like Pajkul is the only one who realizes how much work is required for these giant requests. It just ain't never gonna happen if Scawen continues to do things alone.

But, if I could choose only one of all here mentioned updates for LFS, it would definitely be Jessica Alba Smile

Seriously, my only request is ingame real time FFB monitor and min force FFB slider. These are very easy and quick to implement and it's a pitty that they are not already in the game.

Yea he's on point with 200 years of work for rb4, window damage, one track, rain and replay button Nod
asphalt to autox
After physics and graphics, AI would be the biggest construction site for me personally.

I know it's called online racing ... but when you have as little time to drive and practice as I do ... you just want a "ToGo" gaming experience.

I've been driving through this game on my own for what feels like a decade. But for a few years now I've been seduced by the competition. Mainly because of the significantly better Ai

wishlist:

- Trackeditor. LFS with ingame browser of tracks created by players with default filter by rating. (that would be clear that high-quality tracks needed)

- Vob modding support in lfs with ingame browser car mods created by players with default filter by rating and with adding car in garage apart from others feature. (that would be clear that high-quality mods needed)

Only these two things will greatly fill LFS with content and unload the developers. In fact, these things will already be enough to make LFS a mainstream simulator, like the Asseto Corsa is now. Free modding is what gives life to many games. For some reason, many do not understand that these are priority things. all the following desired versions of cars or tracks will be available in browsers.

Not so important but good things:

- Version of the car without taking finish time with the ability to change all parameters, engine, wheel width and diameter, wheel rims etc
- Update default cars models (to more poligonal\detailed versions)
- Dynamic weather and wipers
- Better damage model: carbody, suspension breaking, engine overheat, gearbox breaking, etc
- Dynamic temperature of asphalt (depending on tire driveways and weather)
- In-race safety car bot
- Car Sounds, revlimmiter, wind on hight speed, etc
- Update driver mesh, better animations (gear change, levers and buttons control)

I have to +1 this, minimum force would be so helpful with some wheels that like to oscillate in the middle position.

Also, a welcome addition would be a "config profiler" so we can save profiles for different wheel faces or driving modes, so the switch between them is easy. This is also an easy and quick implementation and would be helpful.
I would really love to have an option to have an option to have a crossplane crank and formant preservation for engine sounds and the timbre always subtly changing to make engines sound more realistic
My humble wish list
Safety car so it can be used for better exprience in racing & for Cruise as a cop/tow.

With the day/night cycle update to come with option to turn off the street/race track lightning for better experience in the cruise.

High beams & low beams
