232nd RTFR was a shorter replay of VERL 2018 round 3 - FO8 at the very twisty Rockingham National,a track which does not offer any places to relax,as you have to turn for vast majority of the lap,while there were many places where it was easy to make mistakes. It was a bit tough combo and it was visible in the attendance as it was the lowest since 219th RTFR,but still higher than all time average.
Just like previous 2 races,this was dominated by the most successful driver in RTFR history - Botsi. Even if his qualifying advantage was not that big,during the race he managed to pull out a gap that was close to 1 second per lap on average - he finished just under 34 seconds ahead in 34 laps race and recorded the 12th biggest margin of victory in all time RTFR stats. Besides increasing his achievements (26th win,25th pole position,20th fastest lap of the race,51st top5 finish) he also finally managed to extend his winning streak from 2 to 3 with 5th try - Botsi is now the 5th driver in RTFR history who has won 3 or more races in row. Best of the rest was Unite in 2nd place,scoring his 25th top5 finish,Kamikas was 3rd and that is his 1st top5 finish with 2nd try (previous best - 15th). Current rating and 2020 standings leader Merenui finished 4th,picking up his 44th top5 finish,while Celeritas joined RTFR for the first time since 180th RTFR and clinched 5th place finish - 3rd top5 finish for him.
Next week it's time for the XL version of this event - the combo has been selected as XRT at Blackwood Historic Reversed (full info will be posted tomorrow),but before that already this sunday there will be another event from RGE side - the 5th round of this year's STARL series at South City's Classic configuration. Also on that more details tomorrow! And in 2 weeks the next RTFR will be held using some of the street legal cars.
