2014 Kyoto 250: Race Discussion
The 2014 Kyoto 250. Seventh Annual. Sunday, 30 March 2014.

17:20 UTC: All competitors due in server AND in TS in correct name format in each.

17:36 UTC: Pace laps begin (all 5 of them)
17:45 UTC: Green Flag (135 Laps, 250.02 Miles)

WEATHER CONDITIONS: Cloudy Afternoon, Low Wind

The 250 has never been caution-free, but 2012 was the record for fewest cautions - 4 for 19 laps The most, you ask? 2010: 18 cautions for 82 laps. It can get done in less than 2 hours if caution-free, although usually takes about 2h10m or so.

Frustrating race. Right front kept overheating, causing big push at T3. Spent pretty much the whole race fighting with that. Also had trouble getting any clean bumpdrafting, people kept bouncing off my car for some reason, don't know if it was lag or if I was doing anything wrong. Last caution was a golden opportunity, given that I was the third to last car on the lead lap, and finally with cool tyres, but no restart, oh well.

I guess P14 isn't THAT bad given the circumstances, but given that I had finished three times in the top 10s in the three Kyoto 250 I had finished, without much hassle, it's a bit of a let down. On to the 2015 running, hopefully...

Also, I'd like to thank deko/NDR. Not only for the smooth-as-usual organisation, but also for keeping such a classic race alive. Especially one requiring such heavy workload. With 7 years, it's probably the oldest stand-alone event still in activity on LFS, and a very special and original one at that too. And it's still going strong - I believe we had a full grid, bar maybe one or two cars, every single time.

If memory serves, every 250 has started with a full 30. I'll confirm this - eventually :P
Shitty race - no pace, caused some trouble, couldn't get any bumping done properly, decided to finish as low as possible.

Wow. I've never seen anyone pull the wheel that hard left out of a corner before and then counter steer in such a needed slide!

martin, I noticed after the race I could've. I didn't take tires only fuel. because I didn't think I could make it. I had 3% of fuel left (wasn't sure because of the long run)
