Will the new tyre physics also have advanced tyre smoke?
For example a F1 car, when it locks it's brakes, we see quite much white smoke.
Will the same happen with the new tyre physics?
Because in the current LFS physics, we have a to tiny amount of smoke upon tyre lock.

No. Daniel is pulling dates out of thin air. If you take them to be truthful, you will be sorely disappointed. Unless the devs actually make an announcement, everything else is purely hot air and speculation.

As a lot of rFactor mods have proven, letting users decide physics is a bad idea because users seem to think cars should either be impossible to drive or have infinite traction.

What a nonsense. You don't play something because it looks good, you play something because it *feels* good. I never seen a sim / game survive because it looks so great, and I'm from around the time that the first actual game was Pong.
The focus is right but the bar is set a bit too high the last years. If you would have read carefully you would have now known whats being worked on right now.

If this thread is speculation about dates, I am pretty sure that it is 17.07.2013. Perhaps it might not be an update, but there must be some kind of progress report. Well, it should be logical. Why? - In that date it turns 10 years since S1 was released. Pretty important milestone, isn't it?
They could commercialize LFS pretty much, hire additional developers, do all the social marketing and so on. As you see, they haven't done that, so it pretty much means that they aren't going just for the profit. And that gives pretty much independence for them to experiment with LFS freely.
