bad download or something .
wtf is this crap? corporate spam?
It'll be just as useless and insecure as every other microsoft software. Probably.

I heard that DOS was being hacked whilst still on the floppy disk, and people are making the XP CD's install porn instead of windows...
Quote from KiDCoDEa :wtf is this crap? corporate spam?

well i copyied and pasted the error so

100% its not spam trust me.
Using IE is bad enough, but you need to be certifiably insane to use a beta version of it..........

Dan,

This thread isnt about which browser is better (FF is best anyways), but about fixing a problem.
faster111 is trying to install IE7, but when doing so, he gets an error. I have no idea how to fix this, though. Which OS are you using? Is the IE7 beta3 prolly only for Vista? Disabled all firewalls?

[EDIT]
faster111 - please put a screenshot of the error, otherwise this thread will go totally offtopic...
An error?

*rereads original post*

Are you sure?

Quote from sil3ntwar :If any of you actually had a clue about what your talking about you would know that with IE7 there is pretty much no reason to install another browser. I will only use FF for its adblock extension.

i dont like spyware and viruses, but i do like having millions of extensions and themes. and yes i DO have IE7, but it is no where near as good as Firefox

Nope.

Ever heard of ...

OPERA

Opera is quite a bit faster than firefox.. but I still prefer to use firefox for some reason.

Quote from ajp71 :^^ I use FF with only the smooth scroll function, it's a fairly minimal browser out of the box which is what I want and IMO still far more productive than IE or any other browser full of functions I'll never use. On my Mac Safari is the obvious choice (I use Camino to open the odd page it can't open) because it's so simple and stripped down yet offers tabbed browsing.

Smoothwheel is nice yes (and it's deved by an LFS racer). Have you tried Tab Mix Plus. I find it adds some very important features that make FF worthwhile: single window mode, session saver, crash protection, undo closed tabs, lots of tabbed browsing options etc.
Just downloaded Opera 9 and it doesn't seem too bad so far nothing amazing though and is there anyway of getting more than one window open?

Will take a look at that extension, sounds useful.

Almost forgot I use customise Google as well which alone is enough reason to use FF IMO.

I would like a double-espresso-LOL!

I have clues by the truckloads and they all speak in unison that it is not wise to use IE (any version).

For you firefox lovers: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/SupportCD/FirefoxMyths.html

haha I know that page, don't tell me it's yours Doesn't matter anyway, just because someone goes on a rant about something on a webpage doesn't make it valid or correct. The site is full of false information, false statements about firefox, outdated information going back to firefox 1.0, I could go on. Anyway, I have a clue of what I'm talking about and for me there are LOTS of reasons to install another browser. And no, I'm not going to name them all to prove my point.
Quote from Ryanry64 :Try Opera 9, it is far faster than firefox

Well I could show you my benchmarks, specially the rendering engine in Opera is the slowness. Ever tried transparency? Ever tried many images in one page? FF is like 3 times faster, both loading times and fps

According to the links above:
Where is the sense in testing a browser without it's extensions, which make the difference? Firefox isnt better just because it's firefox, but because of the great extensions! SPECIALLY for web developers.
