hi folks, some friend of mine was asking about a translation of a single line from a songtext posted below.

we try to find out what the artist means by singing
"I never gave you an encouragement, and it's doing me in"

i was searching for "its doing me in" quite a long time now, e.g. in urban dictionaries, but i couldnt find a decent translation. may some of the english people here can describe it with other words so i (we) can understand it better and can find a good way to translate it into german ?

I think that "do someone in" means to kill someone.

It's doing me in = It's killing me

thanks for helping out, that was almost the same synonym ive thought of next to "its making me sick" and "i cant take it anymore". but when reading the lyrics all in common now "its killing me" is making more sense.
