i think a system like, at first they have all they have now, and after like 30 days, they take away the XRG, then in 15 days they take away the XFG, then they take away the gp track after another 15 days, so all they have is an FBM on dirt >= ] muahahahaha *ehm*

No, I did not complain about the current state of the demo version. I did not say we need more cars/tracks etc. for the demo, I just gave you facts: the demo version has only 1/2 tracks, 3 cars, a lot less than S2 and like you said, there will be more upcoming cars now, but the demo will still have 1/2 tracks and 3 cars.

And the idea of this topic was to give more benefits for buying a S2 licence, because the demo will have less content. That means a bigger gap between the demo and S2.

Less to do in demo + S2 = bigger gap = more benefit for S2

Yes, LFS has problems. It is not perfect, saying something else is stupid, there is no perfect game/simulator. It's better in some parts and worse in some parts. They all have their flaws, so does LFS. And you were saying that LFS is a game that keeps on developing. I mentioned rFactor which is also developing due to mods. What I meant with "fun part of racing" (maybe I could've said it differently) is increasing amount of cars, tracks and mods, I did not mean that LFS is not fun. One day you can drive with a '65 Ferrari F1, the next day with a pickup truck on f.e. rFactor. LFS and rFactor are competing with each other and thinking that LFS does not need to worry is stupid. S3 has still a lot of work to do, but rFactor is already getting a second version with many features that LFS lack. Physics is just one part of realism.

People want new stuff every now and then, a regular driver gets bored quickly. You are an exception, a normal person might not be interested in buying a game that might not be so interesting for him in a longer run.

And why are you picking on my driving? I already said that I might buy a LFS licence, but ATM I need to focus on something else, so I don't want LFS to distract me. So yes I could afford it, but I don't wanna invest in it yet.

Where have I said that I'm not enjoying LFS? LFS has been interesting for me for a really long while. Maybe I don't have that much time for it now, but it's still the game on my PC that is opened most often.

If I need to answer the other parts of your posts I will just have to repeat what I already said, and there is no point in that.

And please, stop arguing with me about stuff, that I have never said or even thought about. It's somewhat annoying.

Ummm... Where did I say you don't enjoy LFS? All I said was that maybe you bought the licence right away, but you're just one player. The majority of players are different, they get bored easily. I know my english is not perfect, but blaming me because of your mistake is in my opinion annoying and amusing also. This argument can go on and on, you have your opinions, I have mine. I still stand behind my words. You're stubborn, I'm stubborn.

The point of this topic obviously was to get more drivers for S2. So if there are 500 demo players online, it's difficult to get even half of them to buy a S2 licence with the restriction. And still LFS wouldn't have that many players online.

I think there should be more promotion for LFS, because when I think about it I have never seen any ads for LFS anywhere except maybe some topics on other forums. LFS is a bit underground. You have to look for it to find it

Also here in Finland MTV3 (the official F1 channel in Finland) has this LFS-series called Maailman Nopein Kansa (World's Fastest Nation) and many finns have joined LFS after seeing the TV ad. If other countries would have something like this I'm sure there would a lot more LFS users, both demo and S2. I don't know who came up with the idea, Scavier or MTV3, but Scavier could maybe contact other tv-channels in other countries for something similar
Problem, many different emails, 30 day trails....12 different email addresses bam year of the game....are you not seeing a problem here at how people can exploit it?
People love to moan and start fights on this forum.

There is nothing wrong with the demo system on LFS at all. If it annoys people that much just dont bother playing it. I played demo for years cus I was skint and it was fine, I didnt moan.

Reach into your shallow pockets and pay the SMALL and REASONABLE sum to unlock S1. Then when you get bored of that pay yet another SMALL and REASONABLE sum to unlock S2
I'm now going to (to mine own surprise) agree with original poster.

Yes, demo is better than S2 unless devs put some kind of hash limitations on.

I'm a casual driver. Can't be arsed to install wheel and pedals to play, so I use mouse/keys and for several years I was happy demoing on bl2r.
When patch Y came over I was sad... I never liked non rev blackwood rally layout and even less bl1 with this sluggish boxes, but the only choice for me was either buy license or stick to other combo, and yes, I took the other option and spent few months racing xfg on bl2 and then FBM on BL1 but eventually, when I got some extra money I bought S1 license to race again on BL2R without using any hacks (you could use rev tracks offline by setting track in lfs.txt file in Y0), but sadly all my happiness was soon gone when I figured out that there was and still is nearly none to race against on that, and other dirt tracks.

So yes, I was disappointed with S1/S2 in a way, but even so, I DON'T regret paying and WILLING TO pay devs another fee for next stage and it is not because they giving out more content to play with (at which I'll no doubt be utterly rubbish) but because I've had such a great times for free back in time.

You're not happy with players count? Get used to it.
Demo is alive. New people making progress, having fun, crashing (yes, that's inevitable) and leaving to some better place, some even buy S2 license.
S1 is dead.
S2 is stagnated. Same people, same combos, same turn (left).
I bet S2 is better than Demo

S2 needs more players

EDIT: Remove S1 from the lisences is my opinion (so there is only DEMO & S2)
S1 isn't as dead as it used to be, now S1 licensees can join any S2 host which is using only S1 content at that time. Before this feature was enabled, CTRA 1 was the only busy S1 server.

What would you suggest to do with the current S1 users? Upgrade them for free, which would annoy the people who paid full price for S2; or restrict them to demo, annoying all the S1 users who can no-longer use their paid for content?
u were a demo racer before so dont hate

please read the title of this thread again. most posts in this thread could be considered as "hate" but infact it's a conversation about how the demo should be designed in order the direct new customers to the full game.

but if we're going for pointless remarks how's abou this one.
STOP FREELOADING. BUY S2!!
Honestly, I believe the actual Demo is perfect.

I bought S2 because I wanted more. The 3 cars and BL1/2 didn't satisfied me anymore, since I was fed up with the track layout, although I didn't master it yet (as I don't now). And with this demo, you get a small taste of every content LFS has, but restricting it to the least: you have a rallycross track for 2 of the cars, you have a FWD, a RWD and a SS car, you have a GP track...

Probably the only restriction I would consider as acceptable for the Demo is the ability to tune the cars...

Restrictions like 30 days, less cars, only one track and stuff will only make the crashers disseminate, newcomers will not taste conveniently LFS and won't get suficiently adicted to buy it.

Very well put.
Totally agree with you.

Now this thread is ready to be closed, because there is no point in keeping it going. I just don't think that there's anything more(except that there is always flaming of course) to be said.

I'd say that demo users shouldn't get to use the FBM. I bought the S2. I told my friends about getting it too, so i can race with them in s2 servers properly. They just say its worthless, they can already race and drift on demo. IMO we should do something about demo. If were making a 30day/min trial then they would get a simple keygen and unlock it.

Atm if S3 Beta will be released, then we would get alot more licensed users. Most of my friends wait for the S3 to save money. They just don't understand that S3 Beta won't come so soon.
Except they won't be saving any money anyway?
Buying S2 now and then upgrading to S3 costs exactly the same as buying S3 directly. Of course I could understand if they first want to see if the physics updates really do improve things considerably, but...

Yes i tried to explain the same thing to them, but well they just don't understand...

Try telling them that S1/2/3 is just a level of content (as it is now) and not a program version (which is what it used to be)
