I am sorry, but you must prepare your son that people are ****s on the internet, and behaves like twats. The sooner he understand that, the better he is capable learning and understanding it.

I do understand your anger, but posting the names here won't change anything, I'm afraid.

One thing you can do, is press the '-' Key to block the messages when your son is racing. That way, he will not see what others are chatting. The blocking goes away if you press it again, or type something in the chat.

Other than that, the only thing that comes to my mind is a server that was founded a while back, for that exact reason. Parents wanted to create a place for their kids to race. I don't know if it's still up, neither could I find the thread in forum regarding this. If someone remembers that, post that thread, maybe it can be reactivated..

i can understand there will be some sort of abuse....but to say things like i will F**k ur dead mothers body is fowl....or i will debill your F****ing mother..is disgusting.....these ppl obviously get some sort of thrill from saying stuff like this....and words like W***ker and C**t, etc ect are just not on.....
if ur crashed out then so be it...its a crash server...gosh dont swear, just go crash the person who crashed u out...part of the game.....

Abusive language is a fact of life, and is an effective way of expressing one's feelings to a person whose skull is otherwise too thick for anything to get through. You can't hide away from abusive language forever, and most 11 year olds these days can speak filthier than their parents anyway.

Of course then there is also abuse of abusive language, where it is used excessively (and with a lack of imagination) and loses its meaning, an example would be the term 'fag', which has been worn out by fat Xbox online gamers, mostly from the Americas.

By the way, pack it in with the block capitals, its one of the daftest things you can do on the internet.

Absolutely, but then you do have to watch out for the few who will batter you to death along with their mates.

There are lots of nasty things out there in life and if someone grows up being shielded from them then its all a lot worse when they eventually are exposed, people will always be horrible no matter what, its part of human nature.

Im the owner of the Crashserver .

The 1st thing i want to say is , that i started this server a year ago , just for a few hours of crashing fun with some friends .

After 10 minutes the server wass full , and it never stopped untill today

Because im the only Admin on my own server it isnt possible for me to watch it 24/7 .

I myself only got 2 evenings a week to have some fun on my own server , the rest of the week im very busy with my factory and wife and kids

Most of the times if im working on my desk , i watch server by 'server remote admin panel .

I do my best to kick/ban poeple that insult and use bad language .

You will all say , get more admins , but i experienced in the past , that i cant trust anyone with an adminpass , very sad but its like that .

but u all got to know :

U still on demo , not on S2 , banning a demoaccount has no use becausse LFS allowed multiple accounts to login , so making a new account takes 2 minutes .

even if u put the kick:ban option onn , the game goes onn , groups join in and ban hole server and so on ... again , your on demo .

The only thing i can do is ban those guys if i see them abusing server , the only punishement thy get is that thy lose all points , ranking , but u all got to know , not everyone is intrested in points or ranking , neether me i only crash for the 'fun' of it

report it to LFS wont help anything , thy know about all the hack and multiple account hacks , but you got to know its just a 'demo' so dont expect any changes to this isseu . sad but its like that .

The only option like posted before is press '-' block messages if its realy boring u .

Hi F5TORNADO. I understand your frustration but this has been an ongoing problem in ALL online games, and LFS is no exception I am afraid. My daughter, be it a few years ago, also liked to have a go on LFS. Luckily I watched over her, and notified the Admin that she was racing for 5-10mins. As you can see from my joining date, I have been here a few years

This was when we had dedicated Admins on all servers, real humans, not just a computer sitting there. As other's have said, make sure you press the - key to hide all conversations.

Also keep a look our for my server. I only load this when I am available, hence why its not up at the moment, as I am in a hotel working away from home.

My server, is not aimed at all this Insim stuff, just pure fun racing, as LFS started out to be. If your son wanted to race here, he and yourself are more than welcome. You don't need to be quick, just race savey ( i.e move when faster guys over take) and race clean, and most importantly have fun. Very Very quick drivers do join my server, so you get a great balance of not so good, good, and Alien drivers, and they will always help you as well..I insist on this.

State the obvious I know, its called Fordman's Server.

I would suggest you install LFS Lapper on your server.
This has a module for monitoring swearwords and you can update that list on the fly.
If people use those words, you can automaticly kick or ban them.
At first it needs some investment of time to set it up and get a list of swearwords (and all variants on them) together, but then it starts paying off.
In fact, you might not have to watch your server as frequently as you do now.

I like how you do suggestions to a 3 year old thread, which was bumped by a single demo racer asking for a crash mod. But I hope server owners will see your suggestions even after 3 years as swearing is really a big problem on many demo servers, nearly impossible to race there

Hmm, never seen it was such an old thread.
I read about the problem, and thought it would be nice to offer a solution.
Will check dates more carefully next time.
