AVG 9.0 minimizing LFS??
I have the strange problem that after installing the new version of AVG free 9.0, suddenly something minimizes LFS. I think it could be AVG. Some other racers reported the same problem after installing the new version of AVG. Does anyone else have this problem also and how to fix this??
I have AVG Internet Security 9.0 No problems on my end...
Strange...:worried:
Does the free version have "gaming mode"?
Where it disables pop-ups, error messages etc?? So that games dont minimise
Yes there is a gaming modus and it is on.
I had that problem until i got rid of AVG. It only happened 1 time per boot but pissed me off in the end..

Since using Comodo Internet Security its stopped.....

What did you delete? AVG or LFS??
I can confirm I had this same problem. I upgraded to AVG 9.0 today in the hopes that it would stop the annoying pop up asking me to upgrade. It did stop the pop up, but my games seemed to minimize for no apparent reason. I uninstalled AVG and it hasn't done it since
Well... I've had no problems. I play lfs and other games and it works fine. Never minimises apps. Doesn't really use much resource except running a scan but I often run one when i'm not using the pc for anything special and as habbit always check for updates before playing anything.

What is that? One right click and 10 or less seconds of waiting.

I Always turn off stuff that trys to make popup such as msn messanger :bananadea

AVG free is slighty pointless to me really as the things I hate the most (rootkits) most do not get rid of and as long as you don't brows much porn sites, hack/crack sites or download loads of illegal software or open spam e-mails you're not that likley to get virused.

Though most rootkit finders are bit crap as nice software uses them too and they do not seem to be able to tell the difference or there is no way to tell the difference. Hmpf.

Plus if you run Linux you're already decreasing your risk of viruses as the dicks who make these things mainly go after the windows wombles and most of those users get their viruses from the abouve.
YES, the subject- is correct, avg 9.0 does minimize LFS. I have too this problem since version 9.0.

Close the avg-taksbar icon to get rid of this problem. Must be done via task-manager since avg 9.0 does not have a simple option to exit it. (or i didn't find it yet)
I have AVG 9.0. and no problem with LFS.

I've installed AVG free 9.0 yesterday (or the day before, not sure), and I'm experiencing the same problem with another game (Eve online).
I didn't try LFS, but I'm pretty sure I'd get the problem.

I'm also experiencing other problems out of game, like current window losing focus (happened just now with message editor XD)

I'll uninstall/reinstall and give you feedback.

Seems solving the problem for me
This works for me:

-Uninstall AVG
-Restart XP
-Install AVG 9.0 clean
-Restart XP

No more minimizing!!

Problem happening again yesterday evening
Hoping grisoft will solve this soon
I'm having the exact same issue, also after installing AVG 9.0.

Good to hear others are experiencing it as well.

Hopefully it will be addressed soon.

Since when you get viruses while browsing porn, hack/crack sites or download loads of illegal software or open spam e-mails?

Since those things exist.

What things?

I watched a lot of porn , visited a lot of crack/hack sites and downloaded loads (37GB) of illegal soft - don't have a single virus yet

P.S.: no antivirus.

But you apparently know a thing or two about what you can "safely" download/visit and what not.

Most people don't.
I'm having the same problem but I think it might have something to do with getting updates. I have done a manual download of updates and the problems goes away for a few days, but then it returns.

I have called AVG and they said I was the first caller with this problem, so they were no help. They said remove their software and see if the problem continues.

I will try uninstalling and reinstalling but I feel this will be a short term fix until it wants an update.
