But Paddles isn't the same as Sequential shift. Some people prefer realism over easyness

ehhh the paddles of the g25 is far more realistic to real car paddles, than is the sequential stick to real car sequentials.
The single-paddle contruction of the G25 is quite fail tbh - if you flick it properly you can change up, then down, then up again. All by flicking on one side....

Momo again was better in this respect.

I've tried for what seems like hours and never been able to do that.

I think it's an urban myth, spread by people who are HOMOSEXUAL!

This isn't true for all G25 wheels, though. That said I never really liked the paddles either. The shifter might be finicky, but it just feels much more satisfying to use compared to the paddles.
Can no-one else do this then? Mine must be odd then

On-Topic - No shifter = No dice. I use it in Sequential mode as my handbrake...
Quote from Calzone :I really don't understand that you guys are still whining. Nobody says you HAVE TO replace the G25 with a G27. If you want sequential, fine, keep your G25. If you want a silence wheel with more realistic FFB go for the G27. You can whine what you want, but the G27 is already on it's way to the stores as mentioned before, so they can't change anything.

Apparently they listen to their customers many people have said, so maybe if enough whining is done, they will put sequential back onto the G29 or what ever model is next.

Also as g25 will be discontinued (rep from Logitech stated this), so someone at some point will have to replace their G25 when it finally dies and if the only option left is G27 then someone might be pissed that their is no sequential. Their will be no choice of either G25 & G27
Thank you Goo for taking the time to show up here and post so many replies

It's nice to see Logitech has made many changes that were high in the priority list of the simracing community. However I think the company will witness a certain amouint of disappointment coming from the high-end/simracing niche, as this product, despite the enhancements, still doesn't look as innovative as Fanatec's and with a starting price of 299€ the G27 will be very close to their top of the line offering.

I thought that maybe you might have had an entirely new and massively improved model in store until I read this:

Quote from Goo (Logitech) :Yes, we could make our wheels spin faster. There are safety concerns associated with that, however, so it is unlikely that we will do so.

means Logitech wheels will always be aiming more towards kids with generous dads, rather than the high-end of the simracing market. This is actually leaving a market space between the specialist stuff (e.g. Frex) and the rest, a space which was previously occupied (and probably even created) by the G25.

All in all this is making sense to me (and I suppose it makes economic sense for the company too) but it's a bit sad for us customers to see that Logitech, instead of picking up Fanatec's glove, is actually leaving the newcomers to dominate this niche. Too bad, as we customers like competition as it drives down prices and/or results in greatly improved products

But maybe the company is just staying at the window to see if and how much success Fanatec will have?

Quote from Goo (Logitech) :the G25 will be replaced by the G27.

BTW does this mean Logitech will start replacing faulty G25s with G27 from some point on?
Warranty claims on G25 wheels will continue to be serviced with G25s if replacements are needed until we have no more G25s to do so. If there are still G25 wheels within warranty and none available to replace them, they will be replaced with G27s.

As far as the other comment - many serious sim racers have children (or have access to other people's children) as well. It's not just the target user of the wheel that is cause for concern.

Goes without saying. My point was actually a little different and a bit more articulated.

Just to clarify, 'safety reasons' translates to 'toy' to my ears. To some a wheel is only a toy, I perfectly understand this but..

...in the simracing community the G25 was the best wheel in the affordable range (that means, excluding the models from specialist manufacturers as Frex), today the G27 is probably not wearing that crown anymore

Yeh but you'd be a Flappy head if you'd use them.
Thanks Goo for talking to your customers in various forums

I've always been a big fan of Logitech and have always recommended your products, not only because the products were good, but the customer service has been better than with any company I've ever dealt with.

I can only echo what others have said this time though. The lack of a sequential shifter is the reason i wont be looking at a G27 when my DFGT gives up the ghost. G25's also have that 'dead zone'/'soft spot' in the middle as well, which really isn't nice at all. The DFGT is far superior imo. No 'dead spot' at all. I was saddened to hear the G27 is the same as the G25 in that respect.

The lack of any real progress with your pedals also is a huge disappointment considering what Fanatec now offer for around the same price. They have really upped the stakes and Logitech have failed to respond.

So for the first time in a long time i wont be looking to Logitech when it comes to a peripheral upgrade, or recommending them to anyone. It's a shame, but Fanatec just offer a far superior product in that price range now.

I really hope Logitech pick the ball back up soon, as i like your brand a lot. Unfortunately the G27 just doesn't look anything like a good deal at the moment.
Imho the Fanatec offers alot more for the pretty similar price tag.

Just make sure the G29 is a massive step forward

Capitalism at it's best. Nothing wrong with someone else having a better product for the money. It brings the price of future models of competing companies down (then again, the g27's MSRP is still $300. Stupidity on Logitech's part IMO)
oh my, now when we finally have g27 people are already waiting for g29
hmm if this g25 lasts as long as my old one then it will be replaced with a g25 and if that lasts as long it will be replaced with g25 so if i am right and they all last as long as the first one after 3 years i will get a g27

although this g25 is a newer revision.
For the people that think it's fake, Well it's not. InsideSimRacing, did a Review not to long ago and all. It's close to the same thing as the G25 just a few more added features, and made the pedals and maybe internal components in the wheel better for longer use and less noise.
You're a bit late to the party...

What do you mean? Party has come and gone. This is seniors night bingo.

For all of you who said it was a photoshop job (and not well done)... How sheepy of you

What do you say now, huh?

i'm keeping my g25 until they make something less hideous.
Well said bunder. Even my hideous DFGT looks better. I actually likes the look of the G25, but the G27 looks kinda crappy...
