The online racing simulator
Quote from MadCat360 :When it'll happen is anyone's guess. It won't happen tomorrow though.

Personally, I hope they expand the team when the time comes, because I like LFS a lot and I'd like to see it continue on for many years, growing all the while.

Why would they? The make LFS because it allows them to work without these 'teams'. As soon as they employ more staff the whole reason to make LFS stops instantly.

Things change of course, and Scavier might change their mind on the matter, but as it stands I don't see LFS becoming a bigger team. It's a 3-man indie project and will almost certainly always remain so. If that doesn't give results you enjoy then move on. There are always big team, mass market games to play like Gran Turismo that have all the fancy stuff you crave.
Quote from DEVIL 007 :Why everybody has to ofend Demo racers.
Some of them were with LFS for ages before they actually bought it and not everybody has to register on the forum as soon as he started playing it. Dont let the the demo racer speaking here....thats the really best idea. The feedback unless its total bullshit makes this game going forward.

Your reply was non-sense.
Just try to thinking more next time.

Well im not the kind of guy that usually has a go on demo racers (check my history if you don't trust me). As for the context, it was not non-sense thus it was only directed to the two demo racers who where, just like you complaining and basically forecasting that LFS is going down the toilet. So if you think it was non-sense then i can live with that.

Quote from mlekodukye :you guys who are complaining about the next release being postponed, you got too spoilt by the industry of entertainment and the whole time-is-money and cash-rules-everything-around-us philosophy and all such carnegian sht.

the developers have obviously chose the way minority of people choose nowadays: try not to get involved too much in THE SYSTEM. that's why they prefer working this way, at their homes and under no external pressure excepting people on this forum.

if you share their views on life, stay and show your support, and if you don't, go play some shiny gigapolygonal cinematic-fx fashionable trendy simulator of you being the cool driver of a luxury car so wanted by chicks

Well put man. Thats what im talking about.
Quote from mlekodukye :blah blah blah

Well you have only been here over a year so you are still enjoying lfs when most people have been here alot longer and done almost every combo in lfs which gets boring quickly plus there have been no offical new content for over a year which is taking the piss really.
I am sorry, but I have to agree with that. Lisenced user from 08 comes telling people that have been here maybe 4 or even 5 years longer than him to stop asking questions / complain about the development.. We'll ask him the same question in 2013
Tell me about it...

Actually I 100% support the devs and their actions (uhh.. unless they go off and kill someone, I support that 0%) anyways, I think the devs chose a good time to slow things down, for me.. personally, it slowed down as I got into college, and here 2 years later not much has happened to LFS since then so .. really.. I haven't missed anything which is good for me I suppose!

It's not so much that I've dropped off from enjoying LFS, it's that.. I can't get my damn wheel to fit to any of these new desks with a quarter inch lip! BAH!!
all these threads would be here regardless of whether the devs said the scirocarioca would be out ages ago or not. it's been a year without anything so people are naturally going to be wondering whats going on. hey look at the bright side, when it finally comes out, we will have a classic car in lfs and nobody to race against
Quote from The Very End :I am sorry, but I have to agree with that. Lisenced user from 08 comes telling people that have been here maybe 4 or even 5 years longer than him to stop asking questions / complain about the development is funny. We'll ask him the same question in 2013

It's about those who fail to understand the concept, regardless the facts that are available or how many times one tries to explain them, while at the same time having the nerve to complain about it. I wonder whats worse actually, those who are around for a considerably long time and still don't get it or those who just joined recently.

That's what i meant when saying: "Can it get any more pathetic than this?"

Or is it just me missing something here?
Well, I'll somewhat agree on that, if the person totally fails to understand, and just do undiscussable / unconstructive critism over and over again.
Well, but I guess it will be hard generalize it, but needs to be seen/judget from person to person.
You're right. Generalization in most cases is likely to fail.
Quote from XCNuse :It's not so much that I've dropped off from enjoying LFS, it's that.. I can't get my damn wheel to fit to any of these new desks with a quarter inch lip! BAH!!

It sounds like it time to make yourself a racing cockpit I've nearly completed one for myself and I can say it definitely adds life!
Quote from XCNuse :Tell me about it...

Actually I 100% support the devs and their actions

Sure you do, you're a modertor

In fact the problem isn't the devs... It's a choice that is, in my opinion, wrong.

Right, nothing really happend. Besides that, who needs an optimised, bug free and stable product if you can have tons of new content right?

(this is just from the last year and most likely just a fraction of the actual change log)
But who tells you I'm talking about devlopment speed?
I'm only talking about progress report, communication...
yep.

progress and communication must BE.

-_-
Mostly fixes if I am not blind.

Good work to be honest but not much changing anyway. I am here from start of LFS being made public so I understand the concept here, its just getting started boring.
There are some areas where things should be accelerated rather then happening nothing at least how i see that.

Maybe Scawen is working on something really inovative, new what ever good but the most thing which I am not happy its the way they comunicated. It simply got worst. Not everybody have time going thru all the hread to find out that Scawen or someone else from the devs team posted something new or at least some feedback. This should be on the main LFS page. When someone new to LFS enter the main page will thing if there is really happening something and its not getting to be a bit of abononed project by devs.

The one thing is which devs never were able to do right in my eyes how to advertise this project in good way.

Thats my last post in this thread because people are getting bashed for their opinion, for being "black or white". As always and this is really sad.

No way I am going to contribute on this more.
Quote from Sir moi 407 :But who tells you I'm talking about devlopment speed?

I can assure you that my previous comment was not directed at you in particular. Besides that, i've already made a statement regarding your comment and i'm not going to repeat myself over and over again on this matter.

Quote from DEVIL 007 :so I understand the concept here

Sorry, but you don't. That's just my opinion of course.

Well I'm kinda in the midst of college right now? So.. a portable .. takes 0 space cockpit, I mean if someone would lend a hand in warping the space time continuum for me to make something that can weigh nothing and take zero space until I hit a magical button that would be fantastic!

Plus I have nowhere to put it

One day I will make one.. one day..

Lerts can maybe do something, he did some science on wormholes and time/space modification.
Quote from The Very End :Lerts can maybe do something, he did some science on wormholes and time/space modification.

Lerts physics only apply in Lerts world, and from his posts I don't think there's enough room left in his head to move in a race frame.
I wish people would stop talking about patches and development speed, and talk about what the point of this thread was since the beginning. Communication (or lack of it). I remember a recent post by Scawen saying they didn't give us updates on what they're working on, because of a vocal minority of moaners. By not giving us anything to look forward too, this is making many many people lose interest in LFS, so basicly, because a minority moans, the majority loses one of the major ways to keep interest? Nice.

I couldn't care less about Sciroccos, etc, etc, what I do care about is knowing that LFS is alive, that things are being worked on, and preferably what is being worked on, even if some of those things will never even be released. That's what keeps people in LFS, and attracts new people.

I really hope the devs listen to this "plea"...
Quote from Bob Smith :Lerts physics only apply in Lerts world, and from his posts I don't think there's enough room left in his head to move in a race frame.

Aww lol, that's a little Harsh, I loved that little thing, Lerts I mean. Alltho he could be anoying he was at most a funny, messed up person..with a .. alternative veiw on reality.
Well.... from what i´ve heard there will be no more patches for LFS S2 0.5. There will be a new version (0.6). The reason why i thik is that the Z letter is the last in the aplhabet. So after many minor patches like Z10, Z13 or Z64 we can look forward for the new version with scirroco(i probably wrote it wrong, sorry) and some improovements. Just leave the devs some time, dont press on them too much. I wouldn´t like 0.6 to be buggy. So imho thats the reaso why it takes so damn much time.
I can start to see why iRacing has such a closed off community. Very very very smart move You lot are spoilt. Get the benefits of a development battles between sims and some absolute stunning software in the end for relatively low cost.... and yet still complain. I think people need to wake up and take their head out of their arses. if they think they can do it better... please do!
Quote from The Very End :Aww lol, that's a little Harsh, I loved that little thing, Lerts I mean. Alltho he could be anoying he was at most a funny, messed up person..with a .. alternative veiw on reality.

Lerts didn't have a sense of reality.
That's why I liked him.
