Why do some sale points sell LFS for 26 euros for example http://store.4players.de/2.0/4 ... 2/Live_for_Speed_S2.html? I mean now (18. may 2009) 24 pounds for the S2 lisence are just 17 euros. So can i buy it directly from my LFS account?
-Okey, problem solved, I didn't read the small printed, which says that some sellers also sell the CD and not only the lisence, thats why its more expensive.

???

Trading "selling" S1/S2 license is not allowed
I am not quite sure if I understand completely what you mean, neverthless the best place to buy a lisence is from the LFS site itself.

Take a look on THIS link, it's a link to LFS shop, where you can buy a lisence and at same time see how much it costs in the various countries.

No, 24 pounds is 27 euros, not 17! So they're selling it more cheaply

you can sell/trade everything you own. at least in every civilisated western country of this very planet. if you've baught a license, you can resell it as long as you follow the taxation of your country.
That's not entirely true. In order to sell an account like this, you need to give someone your password, which is in violation of the EULA.
That said, nobody is going to know unless you go around telling people. It's a don't ask/don't tell situation.

Problem is, you don't know what you're going to get. The account you buy may have lifetime bans on a lot of servers, or a really bad reputation around the community.
Albeit the point being off topic I would like to point out that according to the forum rules, you are not allowed to re-sell LFS licences:
Quote from http://www.lfsforum.net/privacy.htm :6) It is not allowed to (re)sell your LFS license on this forum. In fact, it is not allowed in general to sell your LFS license, as is the case with any license.

This statement is, however, from what I can gather, in conflict with the LFS end-user agreement (which has no mention of it) and this post by Scawen (in which he points out that it is not "banned", but frowned upon).

Perhaps a rewrite of the forum rules would be in place to avoid confusion.
4Players is a localised-sales point for LFS and has been approved by the LFS devs. Like bmwracer67 already said our price is currently cheaper by about 1 euro.
Also, it was that post by Scawen that prompted the additional forum rule here.
Well the customers should never ever give a shit on such limitations.

If you buy a game it is yours (whatever the Publisher say about license shouldn´t matter for you and clearly will not for me!) and if you lose the interest on the game you should be allowed to sell it!

This was really a big let down reading that the Developers of Live for Speed also try like some others to forbid their customers to sell the game they paid for.
You did not pay for the software. It is not yours. You received no box, nothing tangable in any way. You can download the software for free, you just paid for a licence to use all the features. That licence is very personal, and although many statistics can be erased (LFS World for example), other cannot be done so easily (reputation, server bans, master server bans, forum posts, third party licence system details, etc).

Also, if you were to sell your licence, there is absolutely nothing to prevent you keeping your two legitimate unlocked copies of LFS unlocked, thereby you have circumvented the licencing system and could have the account closed, so both parties lose out.

So you definitely should give a shit about the licence that you agreed to before payment was accepted from you.

So they can save 1 euro
Is it even legal to limit a product from being reselled?
There is no product that can be reselled. Live for Speed is free to use, but you can purchase a personal license. It's not a good, but simply the right for you to use the content of said license. This license is not transferable to other persons at all. Even if you gifted your account details to someone else, the account could be legally banned.

I do know that the Publisher/Developers wan´t it to be like that but I just don´t care about it and if I ever lose the interest on LFS and somebody wan´t to buy it from me I would sell it.

There are People that say don´t suport such companys (there was always a big discussion about Valve and Steam) and then they boycott the product. Well it is a way to to let the companys know what the people think of their license.. but I go the other way I don´t want to miss the great game HL2 so I bought it and just ignore the bullshit written in the license.

When you buy used stuff there is always a risk to it and you better know if you can trust the seller or not. But this risk won´t stop the people of buying used stuff.
I sell software for a living and i totally agree with you that you should be able to sell it , that's not how reality works unfortunately and as Bob said your license was for you and you alone.

Still LFS isnt as bad as say Microsoft , if we build a person a new PC we are by law not allowed to transfer that license to the customers new PC even though they have a retail copy of Windows and the old pc is decomissioned by us. Thats not do say it doesnt happen..

How pissed would you be if be if LFS took that approach?
I think that i saw a picture on google where was "Live For Speed DVD". So i belive it was with the 'voucher' code or something. Dont know if this is real but i searched for this thing and i couldnt find it.

I do know that but I ignore it, and not in every Country are the same laws so what is allowed in the USA don´t have any affect in Germany for example...

I live in Germany so there were also things MS tried years ago in Germany but it just was against the law!

They tried some years ago to forbid selling of (I think it was the oem version of WIndows) Windows OEM without Hardware. Well bad luck for MS all the shit written in their license wasn´t worth the digital Paper it was written on. So the onlineshops still kept selling the Windows Oems without hardware.

But even if it was ok with the german law you always have the choice:

Buy it and accept all license blabla written.

Don´t buy it and don´t use it.

Don´t buy it but still use it (not legal still you can do it)

Buy it but ignore what is written in the license if it is Bullshit (yeah that would then be like I do it. )
-Okey, sorry for all the miss understoods. Now I've solved the question myself. But thanks for the answers

Well actually I would say bmwracer67 was the one to solve the problem for you.

Yeah, either that or he have to tell me where does he exchange his money
When u buy a license u have to accept the terms.

Weather you care about it or not, the fact that you clicked "I accept" means that YOU HAVE TO ABIDE by there terms.

Therefore you agreed to their terms eather or not you actually read it. Its the law. Because you agreed with their terms they can do all sorts of stuff when you violate their agreement, and in somecases it it possible to take legal action.

Its a license to own. Just like how you cannot sell your driver's license legally, or a gun license.

Account selling happens more often in MMORPGs, the buyer 50% of the time end up buying a perma-banned account they spent 400$ on for a set of maxed characters and pets. I monitor crap like this.

Websites that support illegal sales of game accounts are often sued/legally attacked by the copyright holders of the product. With international law on their side as well.

A ToS should be read. If u dissagree with it then you shouldn't have even paid for it to begin with, and bought something else instead.
Quote from CodieMorgan :When u buy a license u have to accept the terms.

more Text.... of all the already mentioned things.
.

This is getting ridiculous.

I already said more then once that I do understand the thing behind the license system!

But that my opinion is that as a customer we should just ignore this kinds of attempts from the industry to restrict our rights. Just imagine in the future we don´t buy the Cars, we just buy an license to start and drive the Car. We pay the same amount of money like we pay at the moment but we are not allowed to sell the car. Wouldn´t that be nice for BMW/AUDI/Mercedes and all the other Companies out there.

It is not that difficult to understand what I am writing, even If you have an other opinion you still should be able to understand like I do understand what your point is, but just disagree.
Quote from funRacer[83] :Just imagine in the future we don´t buy the Cars, we just buy an license to start and drive the Car. We pay the same amount of money like we pay at the moment but we are not allowed to sell the car.

Quite clearly that would never happen, and thus isn't a valid comparison.
You shouldn't be selling your LFS account any more than your should be selling your casino account.
