toyota supra people only
hey everyone i wanted to start this thread so people with supras or people who are looking at buying one can discuss their cars and also so everyone can see who all the supra people are in live for speed
i will start.
hi my name is Jamie and im going to buy a a70 supra in the next few months.
it all started when i was about five and i was playing gran turismo and my career mode car was a jza70 supra ever since i have loved them.
last year i decided to get my dream car and some time after i buy it i will be turning it into a track car.

my supra mania user name is: sette1994
and my supra forums (australian) user name is: sette1994

i can get my learner license at 15 years and 9 months.

and you can get your track license at 14.
dont worry i can drive my supra at my age
right , im moving to Oz
well tbh i had cars before i even had my provisional, never drove them ( unless for field/track use...

best to learn how expense and time consuming now rather then later i say.
Quote from gruggy :dont worry i can drive my supra at my age

Yeah, everyone sais that, then they end up on a tree.
well toki, id say its a wreak tbh at 15.... unless its a hand-me-down id say its an 80's model.... it will do a burn out.... but speed ?? nah ...

though Any car could end up hitting a tree....

Even a micra... ( though chances are the micra will drive away... Stupid robust engineering )

You're just a jealous ****.

A70 supra's had a 1jzgtte.
Very capable of going fast.

yes it is, if you have a year to wait...

the supra to oz is the 5 serise to ireland...

its all good on paper but in reality... Nah... not so good ( though the newer models Are good... the old ones... good for rolling around in , but not upto todays standards )

I'd never ever buy a Supra.

i would providing it has the jza80 is300 shared lump in the front... its hard to refuse a turbo Toyota engine imho... with the newer supras actually looking a nice car...

but theirs Alot of competition for their price...

Not sure what your definition of fast is, very easy to get 300hp with just basic Exhaust, Intake, FMIC, and wind up the boost to 14~psi.

My brother has a toyota soarer, simple mods, 287rwhp, same engine, dragged n a70 supra 3 times, all the way up to the 180kph limiter, and they were pretty much a draw the whole time.

They're fast cars, very boat like, but fast.

along with that, the 1jz engines are pretty bullet proof, can handle a fair bit of power and constant thrashing without deciding to go pop.

Gearbox's will become a problem before power i think
If you've got the money to buy a Supra as a 15 year old then I say go for it mate - sounds like you have a passion for them - just don't bin it!

i agree, but he shouldn't be wasting all his money on it because one of your mates will only end up rolling it at 40ish mph....

Note to everyone: full cage and bucket seats Save lives...

keep this thread they way i intended it to be. (for supra people and about supras)
that means no saying one car is better than the other, assuming drivers are inexperienced and are gonna kill their self.
i have already made up my mind and have joined the supra community im not going to buy any other car.

anyway its not too late to keep going any supra owners wanna contribute to this thread it could still be a great thread for supra owners and people to chat about their cars.

also i will let you know theirishnoob the a70 supra was between 1986.5 and 1993. the one im getting is 89-93 and dont mean to sound like im being nasty but learn your supras man the a70 or mk3 supra is not a slow car.

anyway i still wanna keep this thread going so lets keep it clean.

Depends which MK3 you're talking about

the jza70's with the 1jz are fast
the ma70...not so much, 7mge engine really is a slug.
the ga70 well...the jza70 and ga70 weren't released in australia, so if you're going for an imported model you might aswle just go for the jza70, or a 1jz converted ma70

i was originally going for a jza70 but they are a bit expensive so i will just prob settle with a ma70 or ga70 with a 1jz conversion.
some people have said that the 7m is a good engine when you sort the head out if i get a 7m it will have to be gte but i will definitely get a 1jz when i start building the car.

hmm i knew it...

heres some advice, Very simple and well... its effective to - dont rally before you can drive at the limits, dont walk before you can crawl... though i know your dad/mate/brother might let you drive on a motorway or something the odd time honestly...

before you can even think of going fast you have to learn to be patient going the limit ( generally 30 mph... 3rd gear... Yawn )

master that then go drive the life out of your boxy supra as much as you like, every man to his own...

besides the mkII was the best ( looking and performance wise )

haven been trained by a toyota specialist he bragged all day every day about how his mkIII ( 1994, early model, N/A with vvti ) kills everything from evo's to m5's...

last month her got creamed by a 306 with a short gear box in it.

sure he can do over 112 mph, but i get their faster....

Small victory's make all the difference...

MkII, better performance wise?
Are you on crack?

Also, nearly any N/A Supra is terribly slow. The fact that they weigh so much, you need a turbo to get the whales moving.

No n/a supra would beat any evo or m5

i have racing experience i have been on a track before and i drive a 450 hp wrx i can drive fast i have even pushed it past its limits before and spun off but thats part of learning.

also you call the mk3 boxy and you think the mk2 is the best shape?
and the mk3 was never vvti or in 94.
just remember i dont have anything against you personally and i dont hate on the different body shapes. i just like the mk3 best in my opinion im sure you understand?
