When I try to install this game and I run the "LFS_S2_ALPHA_Z" file it starts to extract, but in the last 99% of extracting it stucks for 2-5 minutes and after a while the program stops and says:

"
0 can not open outputfile d:\lfspath...\LFS.EXE
1 can not open outputfile d:\lfspath...\LFS_RESTART.EXE
"

So in the lfs-folder is every files except these two.

I've tried to re-download the game from different mirror site. I'm also logged in to xp as a administrator rights. I'd love to test this game, any suggestions what I should try to do?

Are u extracting it onto your desktop or a seperate folder?

Separeta folder (tried two different tries with two downloads from different mirror sites).

D:\New Folder\LFS_S2_ALPHA_Z
D:\GAMES\lfs

Maybe download it onto your desktop and once its done then move it into your new folder.

Problem solved, I think it was the firewall.

I have Comodo-firewall, but it seems to work fine with lfs now. User mistake perhaps.

Thank you NotAnIllusion. This is a nice game so far with a lot of active players. I'm considering to purchase a ff-wheel becouse mouse-control is a bit boring and maybe even buy a S2 license to this game.

Hmm, I use Comodo as well The wheel will be more expensive than an S2 license. If you're planning on mostly using your wheel with LFS, you could get the license first to see if it's worth it (it is ) to get the wheel.
