Quote from Scawen :I do want to try this option at some point.

With your phone VR setup, when you enter 3D mode in LFS, which option do you select for Display Type?

Hi Scawen, this is my Setup (pics)

I use the Trinus Software & Moonlight over USB (both Playstore)
Moonlight works only with Nvidia Cards.

My Phone is a Simple Honor x6 and i use a TrackIR3 for the headmovment. (one on one profile)
And i use a Bobo Z4 Glasses with 110Fov (for less then 35 Euro.)

I have a DK1 here but my PhoneSetup is much Sharper and i believe a little bit faster (delay arround 7-9 ms)

When i turn Accelation viewpoint to zero the Motion sickness is totaly away for me....

(sorry for my bad English)

Motion Sikness go away with a little bit of VR Training. (for me)

First Night (after Hours and Hours) i was dreaming of VR inclusive the Sickness ;D

But after some days, I was able to drive 20 Lap races. Even with a simple cheap Smartphone VR. Dont give up after your first Sickness. But i turn the Accelation viewpoints to zero.....
(i hate that shaking even on Monitors)

Quote from mbutcher :The Windows Mixed reality headsets do not offer AR. The name is misleading.

The current generation Windows MR headsets are VR only, the only exception being the Hololens.

ahhh okay...

I'm waiting for a mixed reality presentation to really call it AR. Like this video show

what does this look like in AR? Is there a "simple" virtual monitor? Or is it a mix of VR and AR?

@nazim

I did not know that there is an official Twitter account. Thank you too!
Maybe it should be made clear on the website.

We do not have a roadmap with timeline ( and I'm very thankful for that)

Read this thread for example Wink

From Scawen (4. Feb. 2018)
Hi, thanks for the support in this thread and your patience.

I confirm this is a full time job for Eric and me. There were some quiet years due to life changes but I can tell you we are really on the case now.

In the past year I have made a lot of updates to the graphical systems and there is much better support for different types of specular reflection including the shine on the road. The shaders are completely rewritten and structured better now as over the past few years I have got to grips with shaders (that was first stimulated by the VR support).

The lighting system is now done in a "gamma correct" way, i.e. processed linearly within the graphics system and only converted to sRGB at the output. Gamma correct rendering is an interesting subject if you are interested in that kind of thing and want to read up about it.

The specular reflections don't just appear automatically. Eric must visit each track and do an update to take full advantage of the new shaders. He is working hard updating the existing tracks and the results are very nice.

I've also recently been working on a new shadow system based on cascaded shadow maps.

So you should see a much better looking Live for Speed within a reasonable time frame. I won't speculate on how long it will be but Eric and I still have quite a few things to do, so don't hold your breath!

Quote from Racon :I'd have it stronger if I could Big grin

And you're right, it does get a little on the warm side in a long session Smile

As soon as you use VR you will notice how "wrong" it feels.
As if you drive a tank or a bus. Nod

But the fun is more important Na-na

I've even asked the >Master< himself for it (2008!) Rofl

Quote from Xenix74 :
How strong must be the Force Feedback option set?
What do you Recommend Scawen? Whats nearly Realistic?
Thats one off my Biggest Question i have to you.

I use the default of 100 mostli on Fwd. On Rwd cars i turn it down to 30-50%.

Scawen:
It's just a matter of preference. If you turn it up too high, to try and make small forces match reality, then the problem is that the medium and large forces are all the same... "maximum".

So it's better not to have the LFS setting too high. This allows your wheel to express a wider range of forces.

I recommend the setting in the wheel drivers should be 100% force, zero damping and spring. What you don't want is an additional "spring" force applied by your wheel drivers, trying to pull it back to centre. Because in reality, "centre" is not always at the centre, for example if the car is going round a corner a bit sideways - and LFS handles that. You know the driver settings are right and no additional spring forces are applied if, when your car is stationary in LFS, the wheel feels loose and you can just put the wheel at any position and it will stay there. LFS doesn't apply forces when the car is stationary, so at that point the wheel should be loose (although that does not match real life, I know).

Then LFS is responsible for all the forces in the wheel, now adjust the LFS force output with the ',' and '.' keys (< and > on some keyboards) to give the best feeling and range of feeling.

ah okay, i believe you must reverse the axis for the Gas trottle Pedal in Option/controls/axis or you have to select seperate Pedals instead of Combined Pedals in the Thrustmaster Driver setting. But i dont own a Thrustmaster wheel so i dont know where you must search.

#Racon

It depends on which steering wheel you use and how high your setting is in the driver settings. But 200% is only an Arcade feeling (for me), especially at rwd.

At the same time Normal Steering Wheels overheat so fast that only 70% power remains after 20 minutes.

...But hey.....the most Important thing is to have fun Wink so have fun.....

Welcome to real Racing. Cool

Do not overuse your ForceFeedback. Many new Wheel user set it to High in the first Days/weeks. Leave it on 30-50% and..... yeah....
give it some time.

I think you have a manual clutch set although you only have throttle and brake pedal.

Look at option / driver / Auto Gear Shift (shift + G)
and at option / control / buttons 1 (if you want to clutch with a button)

Which Thrustmaster steering wheel?

And what problems do you have with it?
Xenix74

This axis has two directions (+ & -). As far as I remember, you can also configure the properties of this axis in the Logitech Gaming software. And make both directions to one, so the lever travel is longer. ;-)

Without this "modification" the handbrake may always be 50% attracted. Use a rubber band or the like to keep the axle at zero. And also use a deadzone in the Logitech Game Software for this axis, because otherwise it can stay dressed without you noticing it.

What do you use? Oculus, Vive or a "homemade" VR solution with smartphones?

Maybe your FOV is set too low ..... if so ... try ~75 degrees.
