That's not my point. I was not insinuating that if a motherboard would not support a card if made before the card existed.
Actually, that motherboard in question (ASROCK 775i945GZ) also lists 8600 GT as supported...
If I were to test a better GPU (e.g. GTX 260) in that motherboard, I know that it's most likely to work fine, or have insignificant issues unrelated to the motherboard.
Anyway, your card is fine in your motherboard, as long as it boots up, recognises it and you are able to install the latest drivers for it.
Regardless of how apparently bad something is, according to reviews or demographic, when you want to get a game, buying the game by legal terms, as in through a retail/games store (getting a legitimate product anyway), or through buying the game on Steam, Metaboli, etc, should be how you get it.
Probably because of lack of feel with the road surface, flawed driving model (like a floating car body with super grip tires instead of a decent rallying experience)...
I have GRID on my other computer, (not working still), and I don't think much has changed, although the grip and driving model is marginally better.
If you wait for DiRT 2, you might just not waste your money on original DiRT.
It looks like I'm going to have to do all three, (being 350Z first (I saw an immaculate Super GT 350Z skin for FZ and also for the poll results), 911, then F430).
EDIT: Progress 350Z is okay... Skin by jgtc. It doesn't look finished yet, so I'm still continuing.
(back to topic) Even then, plain and simply said, those lights are NOT possible to adapt without too much deviation from the actual lights, to preserve realistic effect.
(Little off topic): He's using Patch X most likely, bored with his XRG, XRT and XFG and is looking for some easy mod requests by the community.
I've seen those lights on a S15 Silvia before, and from how those light up, they actually seem possible. I just have to get the textures and placement and it'll be alright.
See the reverse light is where XR's reverse light is (after adaptation), and ditto for brake and turn signal (again after adaptation).
It might work. I just have to try...
[Edit: Oh, I see what you're saying, Kristi, however if you ignore the white parts and only use the lights themselves, it's plausible. The white parts could be interesting to implement, however since there is no skinnable texture behind the lights (if the parts in the lights that don't light up are transparent) then those white light surrounds are not possible.
Actually, ALLE123, do you just want the lights or the whole thing including the white surrounds?]
1. Mitsubishi GTO (to try and make a XR GTR out of it)
2. Nissan 350Z (The '05 ST version in GT4)
3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR Edition (I'm a self-confessed Evo Fan :shrug
3. Audi R10 TDi
4. BMW M3 GTR (E46) [BMW Motorsport]
5. Porsche 917
6. Caterham Levante RS
7. Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT (LM-GT1)
8. Nissan R35 GTR Z-Tune (Imaginary cars?)
9. Peel P50 (for fun with a massive tuning kit)
10. Toyota Celica GT-Four Rally Spec (the only Toyota other than a Supra that I would drive, also for rallies too)
Some of those do have some aesthetic merit, and I have seen my fair share of alright/nice ones (AFAIK on Youtube), however I still stand by my opinion against custom ones that generally and most likely low quality.
That one in the video looked only suitable for Nissan Skyline skins for the XR, and I bet that only the XRT was available, which again, (by Patch Z anyway) demo'ers don't have access to.
