Come on, hitting another racer in a Gold-Cart at 40 miles an hour would be EPIC. There should also be a mod where the driver can fly out of the car. SWEET!
I was immediately spectated by the Airio Tracker (is that it?) for spinning too much. I have "Sorry!" hot-keyed to F8. Thank you for your input, brings back some respect for [FM]. I was actually kind of hoping no [FM] members would see this thread, expecting the worst from a member. I don't think you were there, I'm pretty sure it was only Failure and that other person on the track (JeffyG possibly? I can't remember)
I actually raced on the Oval the other day, for a quick 2 races, as I had to do homework. Your long post really helped me understand the other member's actions (which to today before I read your post I still did not understand) but now I see. Thanks.
EDIT: Just read [FM] Goonie's post and the respect went back down. Sorry, Torben, I was rooting for you!
I am a big fan of NASCAR-esque racing. I know this is pulling on the American hillbilly-beer throwing stereotype but I am none of those two things.
I am quite surprised at the amount of mixed comments I am getting. I was expecting after I posted this a mod to come swiftly down and plant the lock onto this. However nearing the end of a page 2 I realize that this has now become a beacon of light for discussing proper Oval etiquette. Even though as FiveMagics veered away from pointing it at me, I fully appreciate the help you are giving me.
Car Restrictions: MRT
You are to use only the default [race] or [autocross] setups. Any evidence of usage of a different setup may result in disqualification.
Dates: Signups close on February 15, 2009
The First Season race will be held on February 21, 2009.
The Main GP is uploaded. It's not fancy by any means, but it's not exactly the final product. It's just the shape of the track. The Extended GP (or Towne Course) will branch and add off of this one.
Finished Main GP will be uploaded as soon as it is finished. Thanks guys.
Haha, that's the best thing I've read in a long time.
Unfortunately, I've been racing LFS S2 for about 3 years now, I've entered in a couple of events (I entered a XRT Oval contest a while back, and a Karting championship as well) and I'm perfectly capable of holding a steady line and driving cleanly.
Sadly, I don't believe you've ever raced with me marking your arguement useless as you've never seen me drive.
Have a nice day. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
Today I had some free time to race some LFS. I decided to race on the [FM] Oval Junkies because I respect the server and it's mature racers.
Unfortunately, this respect has gone away.
I was racing, it was about the 7th lap and I was in first. I was using chase view (third-person) and had no mirrors (because it was chase view). I went down low into the turn, and slowed down a little as to not spin. One of the [FM] guys runs into me. Just a little bump, nothing major. I was quick to say sorry and ect. However, he started a vote to ban me. And it was accepted, mostly by people WHO WEREN'T EVEN IN THE RACE.
A quick tip of advice: If you plan on using this server, prepare to get verbally harassed and such until you are banned. Good luck.
Here's the new Maple Hill Karting courses. Currently there's only one track done, which is right here.
Main GP: A short, tricky course. A sweeping first turn into a small turn. After that a quick turn which leads into the hairpin final turn. A good or bad drive out of this turn could mean the winner. Layout called AU1_maplehillmaingp Image:http://img508.imageshack.us/my.php?image=maingpml8.jpg
Extended GP: A small extention of the Main GP, this added part includes a quick left turn followed by a sharp hairpin turn. Executing this turn could be the key to any race using this layout. Layout called AU1_maplehillgpextended. Image:http://img262.imageshack.us/my ... age=maingpextendedcs5.jpg
If anybody is interested please PM me and we'll get some races set up.
Rules (I don't know how to do this, haha)
1. Point System is as follows
1st Place = 10 points
2nd place = 8 points
3rd place = 6 points
4th and lower = 3 points
2. Live for Speed will track the DNS and Disqualification. If you finish and it says DNS or Disqualified, YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE AND WILL NOT GET ANY POINTS.
3. Most tracks will be custom AutoX tracks. However, there are 2 races that will be held on acutal tracks. Those two tracks are:
FE Club
SO Chicane Route
That's all I can think of, anybody is welcome to step in and help. Thanks.
