For what it's worth, just putting a tire or two off doesn't give you incidents. You have to have the center line of the car off before you'll get a 1x.

Ice chests instead of airbags in the doors. Good thinking.

I was born in the town of Stamford. I thought it was Stanford until I was 23 or so...

Also, I used photoshop everyday for 5 years before I realized I could check "auto-select" and just click on the layer I wanted to work on.

They're never down for very long when they don't announce it. Usually. Maybe. Hopefully.

Get that rear wing down to <17 and it's a different story, especially at places like Sebring where the bumps try to kill you.

Quote from UncleBenny :The weird thing was the Radical seemed too easy to drive, maybe the default setup is just really understeery though?

Yeah, the Radical definitely feels like a tractor at first, but once you have it set up to suit you it is an absolute blast to drive. The new default track-specific sets are usually a good place to start, the advance sets pushing less than the basic defaults.

Be sure to set your in-game FFB strength at between say, 9 and 15. I think the default is 12 and I've found it feels better even a little lower than that.

Jakg, it can be an annoyance to have to stop the car before doing anything, but there's a method to their madness. If everyone could exit while the car was at full speed, the iRacing safety rating system goes out the window... Everyone would just quickly hit shift-p before any impacts or incidents against their license occurred.

I know, I know, you were just in practice mode... If everyone has the option to shift-p out of sticky situations in practice, how well do you think they'd handle the same situation in a race?

It's really interesting to hear some difference of opinions here.

Personally I love it. The FFB is awesome and the track surface is unrivaled in anything else I've tried (LFS, rFactor, nKp, etc.)

LFS feels very static and dead now that I'm used to iRacing. Of course each has it's merits but in iRacing I feel more connected to the car and subsequently the road than any other sim, bar none. In iRacing the car actually feels like it is on the ground, like it has some weight to it. LFS feels like the car is floating right above the ground.

iRacing still has a long way to go before it can rival the features of LFS, but the interaction between the driver, vehicle and the track is way better in iRacing IMO. This coming from someone who this time last year swore that LFS was the end all of sims.

This Riley DP is just awesome, but does call for some accurate pedals.

Spanks, have you considered the Fanatec clubsport pedals instead of CST, to save money? I'm waiting on the review but will most likely pick them up when they are released.

Loading 59 AIs at Lemans, at night, can be pretty fun. LMPs from the ISDM mod and GTs from the SCC mod. The SCC cars aren't all that great physics wise, but they sure look good as you're blasting past them in the Porsche LMP2.

The new(ish) Daytona Prototype mod can be fun, and Niels' Vette is about as good as it gets w/ Real Feel. Be sure to try all the Virtua-Lemans team tracks, and of course the 'Ring is epic.

Definitely get the Lite version, and add a few mods like the Vette, and the Virtua-Lemans tracks. Don't even bother with the standard ISI garbage.

I saw that too. There is a small thread about over at the iRacing forums.

No complaints here. Hopefully anyone smart enough to go through Radical for a demo will be smart enough to drive properly.

Although now that it's posted here...

Quote from Jertje :Perhaps they should introduce a rolling restart of the service by region, the site doesn't seem to be coping with everyone hammering it

I was thinking that too but imagine the whining from those that aren't first in line.

Probably a good call. Try it out when you get back in the car. rear=none front=soft. totally changes the cars behavior.

Hey spanks did you try the no rear arb thing with the mazda?

I assume justin.tv won't be streaming all night? Is there anywhere we can pick up coverage when Speed switches to Nascar and bobsledding?

Nice. My dad actually used to luge, did fairly well in the Empire State games up in Lake Placid, back in the 80s. He used to train on a big tilted conveyor belt.

How far up the track did they start you? Was it just something anyone could do (I'm noticing lack of a suit/proper gear)?
