to be fair, the xrgt isn't the best handling car ever made...

but try a few sets if not... learn to drift it so you can handle it racing wise

Quote from Sobis :How can you say it's the same on other servers when you didn't even drive in them? You shouldn't go to a crash server and expect clean racing. As I said, try AA or Redline servers. Drive there for AT LEAST 30 mins and then say what you think.

to be fair though, its hard to start when theirs nowhere to start....

new guys always get the hard time

THAT would be a game we'd all play !

Quote from Crashgate3 :I read it as '"Are we able to divide the in-game chat into separate channels, so people who speak the same language can chat together?"

No, it's always one channel, and as far as I know there are no plans to introduce this.

im sure someone Could do a plug in for it, but the dev's might not allow it.

Quote from suzuki94 :oh no tbh I have worked quite alot to afford it + the money from child support, but you can think what you want

I really like those, also the AMG monoblocks looks nice but the price is quite high for both of them anyone would know if they sell these new as replicas or something?

not here, our upper car market has almost completely bottomed out, you'd be surprized how many newer model merc's you find being broken, thus le parts are cheaper... but still expensive ( 00 merc's on the scrap pile instead of the say 91 you'd expect )

concidering how big the indian car market is ( and growing ever more ) its important for them, not so much for us, but their are quite a few users who live in that region...

Quote from Keling :About C.A.R.S. :

Better graphics ? Of course !

Better tracks ? I think so.

Better FFB ? Not sure.

Better physics ? Well, at least in theory, the C.A.R.S. game, which is based on GMotor 2, can be as good as some of the top rFactor mods out there. In that case, it's hard to say which is better. Both LFS and those rF sims have their pros and cons. But given where the project is actually doing I'd say "NO".

tbh every sim is tackling the same problems in their own ways and manners, its only disapointing when a game with a much larger budget fails to perform.

Quote from Bogey Jammer :1 complete hour (minimum) of K1 kart (minimum) grand prix? (plus test and qualif sessions of course) OUTdoor (of course, and because rain is fun), or 3 hours endurance with teams?

What other things do you have in NL?

one would assume with traveling and most struggling with the recession that would be a tad bit pricey...

tbh, buy a s*** load of food + beer, find somewhere to fit you all and drink until you are best o' friends.

get friends who sell them for a living ( or market them ) and well, understand that graphic cards, like most all computer components have a 15 day sell by date until a slightly differant one comes along ( normmal just fans added, expanded fan size, differant color etc )

invest in the best you can, play it till it dies then upgrade.

Quote from Imprez :Good post Alric, my thoughts exactly! Kudos to you Victor for taking the time to respond. A little regular update now and then from you or Scawen would go a long way and would be much appreciated!

this would make everyone happy, but then they'd complain about the time between updates...

oh wait...

i get free passes for the MW games as my friends work in game/gamestop/xtravision so i don't pay for a thing really... well, that and buying a GPU gives you atleast 1 free game these days as we all know...

but hey, imho they make more then enough money... and its not exactly an art making a generic FPS that anyone could make....

*sigh* - i was wondering why Battlefeild hasn't been Fully hacked yet, but only time will tell.

Quote from Victor :I'd like to insert an actual fact into this thread : http://www.lfs.net/?page=rockingham

As you seem fairly misinformed about what we do, here's a summary :
-LFS is not a normal business. We are 3 people who went away from normal business to do things our way.
-We don't have deadlines. Things are finished when they are finished.
-This indeed leads to long development processes some times. This wasn't always the case - you should've been here in the earlier years ago when there was a stream of updates every year.
-But now LFS has developed and matured a lot - it has many many features that people asked for and honestly aside from modding, what is there you cannot do with LFS now? I'm just saying Scawen has worked his nuts off to accomodate everyone. (still feel like we owe you anything? What more does 24GBP buy you these days? Honestly?)
-Now we want to take LFS to the next level by upgrading the physics. I guarantee you, you have no idea of how difficult this is. Give everyone a giant CPU and GPU and sure it's fairly easy to develop a super accurate racing sim. But you know, it doesn't work like that. LFS needs to run on slower machines as well. So shortcuts to better physics need to be found, without producing weird side effects. You go and try that. I wish you all the luck in the world.
-Now the question remains, couldn't we have released the scirocco and rockingham anyway? I guess that was possible. In hindsight at least. If we would have known it would take so long in advance .. but we didn't. There still would have been a big delay in new releases then though, while physics were worked on, so the question remains : what would people be asking for now, if sci and rock where already released 4 years ago.
There is no use in releasing them sooner now though, because Scawen IS working on the new physics and him taking a break to work on releasing new content will only delay the physics .. again. That stuff needs to be done. It needs to get out of the way. Scawen needs to be able to tick that off his list. Then that incredibly difficult part of LFS development is done and "simple" stuff can be worked on again. We can't wait to get on with regular development. There are still so many things we want to do!

heres a little pro tip ive learned over the years and pretty much every big game maker does it to keep their games " up to par " with the competition: do the most minor tweaks possible, release them as their little patchs ( sub 4mb or such ) and folks can never complain that its not " updated "... it is... but like you said, it takes time, just dump what you can, as you can, at the folks and im sure their happiness will increase, if only you're work load didn't increase because of this eh ?? *trollface*

also on the topic of pc's and such, i remember running lfs on a 256 AGP card, a Really tired 3.0 ghz single core and 1gb of ram ( the stick said 1gb but im sure it had memory leaks ) Dont under estimate you're pc folks, this crappy i3 with imbuilt graphics barely plays lfs at anywhere near acceptable Fps offline so; Enjoy what you have, nomatter how little or much it is...
