Quote from miata :I don't know how you guys use so much ffb.
I set profiler to 50% and ingame ffb to about 10-15%. Any higher and it feels like there is just way too much resistance!

Also I use a dfp and with 720 degrees in profile so the wheel is a 1:1 match with in game - thus wheel compensation has no effect on the steering for me.

blimey, i use 150% with the wingman profile and 200% in game on my DFP

i think some people need to do a few weights in the gym

i have never even thought about watching the WR replays tbh.

i had just assumed the XRR would out drag it by a large amount with it only being RWD

so its down to my crap skills then

that's a valid point, but i don't think my lines are to bad for a few hours use, i know i can improve the corners, i just thought this FXR seamed to accelerate a bit to fast for some reason?
The XRR is faster then the FXR top speed yeah?

I am learning how to race the XRR, i am not super quick yet, but in this video on blackwoods straight i have no chance against this FXR.

i was useing a flotch WR setup and on lap1 this FXR seamed to pull away far faster then any other car, i do remember the start and thinking "fook me he got away fast there"

as soon as we are on the long straight he is away, cant catch him illepall

he slows at the end and allows me past, next lap on the long straight, i was thinking i would be able to escape on the long drag, and he pushes me along at top speed

http://www.sticky-micky.com/a1plus/wierd.mpr

seams a bit strange, is this due to my crap XRR skills?
it seams a little "wierd" for some reason

Quote from jtr99 :Probably should clarify that you need to have the latest test patch downloaded for this to work. If you're just using standard patch U, this feature doesn't happen (no white stripe).

phew Thumbs up

with my mate getting into the game and installing the demo, i have been racing the demo servers with him and giving him tips, along the way i have been brought back to reality with regards to demo drivers LOL

i have been banned from a crappy for being a "crasher" by randoms who never saw anything, pure class LMAO

did see the odd one or two who were ok.

Oh, please give us some info on that 700hp novelty act anyway. Just for the fun of it.

as always, it was never going to happen

its only within the last year or so really when, what you can call "reliable" 5/600bhp imprezas have been hitting the strips and tracks, and even then the list of fatalitys is high, even with the new stronger 6 speed gearboxes.

PAR uprated 5 speed gear sets tend to break quite a bit as well, at this level when used in anger. i have even heard of full on dog gearbox that gave up.

to claim that you helped build one in 97?? is complete and utter tosh, classic pub talk. i have never heard so much rubbish TBH

Quote from Hyperactive :After 2 days of extensive testing my ass and myself agree that this has been the 4th best 30€ I've ever spent (LFS, GPL and drunken trips top it but...). It did took longer than I though because I accidentally made it too tall at first. My legs couldn't reach the floor . After some mind blowing massacring I got some parts cut off and it started to look better. Called my uncle, told him to stop bitching and start welding.

The result is seen in the hq pic below:

i made mine far to tall as well

it killed me cutting off all the welds i had done

ummm hummm yesss umm humm
i am sure you will LOL

how does everybody else at work like there cups of tea

funny how none of the sprinters and hill climbers on scoobynet know of this mystical 700 car either.

one for scully and mulder me thinks.

ps. if you are going to waffle on, please add a disclaimer to help people believe things which are not true. A simple "i was told" "i was lead to believe" can work wonders.

Quote from tristancliffe :I'll get some details when I'm at work next week. Just for your information there was a 700hp (apparently) Impreza at the Bentwaters sprint meeting. He was only a few seconds slower than our 160hp F3 car.

Need I say more?

700bhp would need a rotated turbo with custom up and down pipes, not to mention it would be pretty large and laggy, perfect for sprints??
driving an mates impreza last week with a td05 16g turbo, with front entry mods and a front mount intercooler, had a freshly mapped car (mapped by andy f) on an apexi ecu, which struggled to make any decent boost until past 3500 rpm

another mates car has a rotated garret which is even worse TBH
was this car running antilag?

would love some details on this TBH

does this 700bhp pikes peak impreza even exist?

really interested in the specs, with me being an avid subaru fan, i am sure the 10`s of thousands of people on scoobynet would be as well, it would sure put to shame a few of the top end 500/600bhp cars to shame.

cant wait for the specs

personaly i would have chosen the Gems ECU but im sure you had your reasons for going motec?

A Type RA/Type R with the diff wound back gives large oversteer tendancies when pushed hard

i fail to see how this is not as much fun as an MX5 tbh

its the best of both worlds, send the power to the rear to play, send it back towards 50/50 split for safety in bad conditions.

i hope this adequately explains why i used a code to describe the name illepall

Quote from tristancliffe :As I have no idea what a V3 Type R and RA is I'll just have to accept it at face value. Is it an STi Subaru Impreza? Why not just call it that? It seems to be fashionable to refer to everything via the manufacturers codes to make everything sound impressive...

i cut the names down, as the real names are rather long, here is the real name if you prefer

Subaru Impreza Version 3 WRX STI Type R
Subaru Impreza Version 3 WRX STI Type RA

the version 3 was realeased in japan around the back end of 1996 (i have a Version 3 WRX )

And all Type R`s/Ra`s since have had the adjustable DCCD Diff fitted to them.

700bhp from an impreza lump is hard work, which turbo was this running?

*edit*
actually after doing a little bit of research it seams the "Subaru Impreza Version 2 WRX STI Type RA V-ltd" had the diff as well in 95-96 years

dont see what the problem is??

i use a DFP on 900 with 200% FF and its fine, i think a few people need to do a few press ups and build up there arms

Quote from tristancliffe :Even the early STi's had no such configurable diffs. It's only in the last few years they've had them.

Of course the Skyline's had them for ages, but no one can take them seriously!

v3 type r`s and RA`s had a dccd unit built in to adjust the diff

thats 10 year old cars

intresting thread

i love the FXR and race this the most, i know i am not the fastest, but i do like racing against the FZR`s at Blackwood GP

if you can hook a ride on the back of a FZR on the long straight you can use the 4wd to a decent advantage in places.

i know the FZR is a faster car, but you also need a better driver to control it, why make the FXR faster? its the easy way into the GTR class.

driving the FXR for me is fun, no brainer, the others take a bit more dedication and thought.
