Quote from beefyman666 :Strange. I had a problem once where nothing would render unless it was selected. No idea how I caused it but it was only on one scene so it must have been something I pressed.

Try selecting both objects, then render.

There are many different render options. You may have clicked on 'Selected'. Choose 'View' will render the whole view. See attached image

Quote from mickyc30 :i donno how though, is it some sort of cylinder tool? if it is where can i find that tool?
edit: found the cylinder, now just have to make it hollow
edit 2: i did it, i just selected the polys around the edge of the exhaust, stretched and moved them, then moved the polys underneth.

You can use the tube tool instead of cylinder.

Quote from feat :Ok, now i come to conclusion, that it's is practically impossible to make nice depth blur with ONLY 3ds max....

You can do it all in 3ds max as tristancliffe mentioned. If you read the basic reference/help files form max, it show you how to do it too!
Create a camera, click show on Environment Ranges, adjust the near and far distance, then turn on the Depth of field option, you can choose 12 passes or less, the more passes will make the blur look smooth but take a long time to process.

Quote from mickyc30 :Hey guys, my request isnt as big as Mafaioz's lol, but could it please be in a fancy scene, such as in a garage? like this 1?

I don't have a garage scene, but I like your chapman skin...

Quote from Mafaioz :Hi guys =) please render my skins=) in some garage or in some cool landscape =)

Ps, The license plate should say ™DK =) Thanks in advanced I LOVE your work =)=)

some XRT renders

You need to check your XRR skins....It is same as your XRT at the moment. It won't work! The top of the wider wheel arches will have no skin on.

Use CMX viewer to design the skin. It helps.

I think Ian is quite right, I do think it is smoothing groups too.
If working in 3ds max, I will detach the doors to the body as seperate objects, so the car body's smoothing group will not affect the door's smoothing groups. Then auto smooth the door's smoothing group with a default of 45 degree.

The indigo render looks very nice!

Yes I do. I am a graphic designer/visualiser. Most of my 3D work are walkthroughs, exhibitions and Conference stage set etc. Sometimes logo stings or conference openning AV.

Done a couple of renders of RB4 on desert. I have not done any hi-res skin for RB4, this skin is from my game folder.

Yes, I have talked about this in the past. The below link is the thread that I answered this question before. (They were for 3ds max user. However, the same principle can be applied on different 3D software)

If you read on the post from that thread, you can find some examples I made from a different thread too.

On the 2nd image, your reflection of the background image is making the car look semi transparent

Replace that sunny sky environment reflection map to a cloudy map to match the background image.

You don't have to use Brazil to do render in 3ds max. But to follow that tutorial... Yes you do need it.

A bit dark and probably too much noise on the blur.
