Quote from VTiRoj :I still have the problem, the guages dont show up when I leave the pits I downloaded the new .dll and its still not working

I dont get the whole start link with c:\games\lfs\lfs.exe /insim=29999 thing, could that be it?

It´s important that insim(outgauge) is enabled.

After starting LFS your screen should look like the attached file.

ValueAsPercentage=0 f.e.

Quote from screama :i don't know what you did with the d3d8.dll since 0.09, but it keeps crashing ...... (0.14)

I did nothing special. I will test this with windows Vista this evening. Which Version did work last for you?

Quote from steve30x :This doesnt work for me. When I press the alt key nothing happens.

This was the first way to use different gauges. Now each Car have it´s own. If you change th car the Gauges will change to.
But i will implement it in future Version again.But then with ALT + pageup, pagedown

Quote from Dudles :what's "pos1" ?? want to save the positions but nothing seems to work to it... but everything worked fine for patch X9 here...

Quote from VTiRoj :0.12 didnt seem to work with the new Patch X9, so I downloaded 0.13, and now whenever I use ctrl+direction to move the guages, it continues to move when I dont use ctrl, so it gradually floats off screen when driving

Help?

EDIT: Now it doesnt appear when I start LFS

Fixed this bug. See first post. Tested here with X9.

Quote from screama :.... ok

but 0.12 isnt working.... lfs crashes with the d3d8.dll.... again

If you have allready "installed" 0.12 just download 0.13(d3d8.zip) and unpack to LFS Folder.

Made no changes in gauges.ini.

As the connection is now a TCP Connection i can read out Split and Laptimes.

The question is if I shall do it?

I have to change the gauges.ini again for that to let you set position, font and color of the text.

Update 0.13 see first post.

If you already have 0.12 you only need to download the new d3d8.dll.

Now you can save your positions with strg+pos1.

Please read the new starting instructions.

Quote from Riders Motion :Hmm... I installed a gauge (I took bloody long time to find a 9k rpm gauge that doesn't go up to 200km/h and that has a turbo + fuel indicator...) and it isn't very accurate... I was going 70 (LFS) and your indicator show me 50km/h But fuel and RMP seems right. Too bad it seems like a gr8 mod

The trick is to find the angle for speed min and max. Blooms Gauges have it in the view.ini.

Quote from MikeyRulesD :the nsx gauges don't work. I put it in the XRT but it still shows the same gauge from default...

did you unpack the *tga Files there or the folder.
Means, is there a folder named gauges in gaugesXRT now ??

If so, copy the TGA Files and the gauges.ini to gaugesXRT and overwrite them. Open the gauges.ini and look if this lines are there

[MAIN]
GAUGES_Enabled=1
BACKROUND_Enabled=0

ValueAsPercentage=0

Remember to use the d3d8.dll from 0.12
When everything is correct it should work. It´s working here

I established a TCP Connection now. The work will go on.

A comment that let me feel good doing things for free.

Quote from Dudles :don't know what happens... works perfectly here...

NSX-R Gauges added in this post. Hope it works...

You use an old d3d8.dll in your zip. Put in the new one (0.12). Add the line

[MAIN]
GAUGES_Enabled=1
BACKROUND_Enabled=0

ValueAsPercentage=0

to gauges.ini and it works.

You don´t have to send the d3d8.dll with your zip. If you only pack the graphics and the gauges.ini people easily can unpack that in a "carfolder" and have fun.

For me it looks great, and i will pack it in the next release if allowed.

Quote from KeiichiRX7 :Got it working now, just need a button to save the position of the guages now, so you dont have to adjust each manually

Yes. I want to save the position Data when you change the car or leave LFS.

Quote from mr2nsane :Im running 1024 X 768 windowed.

Try to change the position of the gauges with strg(ctrl) + up,dowl,left.right.

Sorry, but the last update (0.12 i guess) is not compatible with this.

If you copy the pictures and the gauges.ini in a carfolder you like it will work.
You have to add the line

BACKROUND_Enabled=1
ValueAsPercentage=0

in gauges.ini.

I think that was the last update that change position formats or gauges.ini values. Sorry for that.

The only stuff i want to change is the connection.

I will try to establish a good TCP connection.

Please check this things.

Last lines in cfg.txt
OutGauge Mode 2
OutGauge Delay 1
OutGauge IP 127.0.0.1
OutGauge Port 30000
OutGauge ID 0

Firewall must be set with portforwarding port 30000

The 3 pictures show my folders. Look if they are the same as yours.

I don´t know if framework 2.0 have to be installed. I guess no. But if you want to give it a try please tell me if it helps.

I tested it on 3 different PC´s, and no where were any problems.

Quote from Dudles :how can I still use percentage on positions ?

Ok....new Version 0.12

There is a new parameter in gauges.ini.
ValueAsPercentage=0 or ValueAsPercentage=1. Only position Values.

And now there is a folder for each car. They can carry the same Data, but you can put in different gauges for each car.

Remember that there have to be at least the gauges.ini in each folder.

I put the gauges of screama in the FXR Folder. Thanks for that great work.

I anyone else made nice gauges, please put it in the faces thread

Quote from Gibslime :Is it possible to make the gauges resizable when you are in-game?Meanin like pressing Ctrl+up and make it bigger??

It was in the code (with ALT+ up and down). But it doesn´t work when you use a backround. I will try to put it in.

Quote from KeiichiRX7 :Followed instructions to the letter. Cannot see guages, needles lights or anything. no error messages, nothing

Did you change the values in cfg.txt ?
Don´t start LFS with a parameter like Insim = xxxxxx.
Don´t type in any insim command in LFS.

Hope to help.

Ok. There´s a problem with Backround and the gauges. If you change resolution it doesn´t fit anymore.

The problem is the different dimensions of the graphics.

I decide to change position settings from % to pixel.

If there´s any reason against it, please tell me.

I changed Code now and testing it atm. Looks good. In 30 minutes i will release the next Version. Please test it.

Can't wait I really like this tool! Good work so far^^

MfG Reese

Well, first i start with this. Then the Button system came out with patch X. So i did one with the button system. Then i managed to input DX Code directly to LFS.

That´s the one i waste my time on atm.

The File "d3d8.dll" and the folder "gauges" have to be there.
Not the *.tga Files directly in the LFS Folder.

Normaly you have only to extract the zip into your LF Folder.

Quote from Dudles :you mean all the bauges in one single TGA file ? like a cluster ? if is it, PERFECT.

Yes, you can paint a backround with all gauges on it. And then set f.e. rpm_gauges_enabled to 0 and rpm_needle_enabled to 1.
So only the needle will appear on screen.
This function can be set for speed, rpm, fuel, turbo.
The backround is allways the first "layer" then gauges .. lights .. needles
