That was difficult but not impossible to masturbate to.

Quote from BigPeBe :My new daily driver. Sold the Cossie looker and bought something in little more original condition. '89 Sierra 1.6 (carburated Emax Pinto powah). It's quite mint in and out, little things here and there but pretty perfect for something I payed 600 euros. Quite the time machine actually, shame that the original radio/cassette player only worked for two days.
Pictures don't make justice, didn't have a change to photo it when it was all clean and shiny two weeks ago, but these have to do for now.

That is a really nice Porsche 928 you've got there. No wait, sorry my mistake, t'is a Sierra.
I still harker after a 4 door Sierra (was it the Sapphire?). Something about them just tweaks my nipples.

Quote from Crashgate3 :I'm a software developer for a Stockbroker (been doing that about a year).

I make about £1260 a month after tax

Major monthly spends:

Mortgage: £385
Home, contents & life insurance: £100
Internet, phone & TV: £60
Car Insurance: £81 (1.8l focus estate, 2 years' no-claims)
Mobile phone: £21
Petrol: ~£50
Energy bills: ~£80
Council tax: £90

You're under paid and you pay a lot for your insurance.

I only do IT support (mostly) and make more than that.
Although my weekly derv bill is more than you pay all month. Tbh I need to move closer to where I work, the extra cash will make things so much easier.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :I stand by my Pinto vs Ferrari argument. With a CPU, the only thing that matters is speed.

It's not a qualitative thing like "ooh, nice shiny leather" like a car has. It's purely quantitative. You might like AMD, or not have as much money so you decide to buy AMD but to state that they have "better" CPU's is flat wrong.

AMD were better during the 00s but that is only because their competition was the P4. Once Intel pulled up their socks they quickly started to leave AMD in the dust again.

And since games only use two cores at maximum right now, you might as well buy the most powerful chip you can get on 2 cores. Right now that crown belongs to Intel. If you're into vidagimo editing, that crown belongs to Intel. It was a common claim that AMD are always 10 years behind Intel. Since the iX range, that is more believable than ever.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Just thought i sneak in this question here, is there anything wrong with pairing two different RAM manufacturers, both on 1600mhz? I have Mushkin Blackline (CL8) and thought about adding a Crucial Balistix also on 1600mhz but CL9, should i expect any problems?

It isn't recommended as it causes unstability, you will need to slacken out its timings on the Mushkin to match the Crucial by setting them manually in BIOS. It should do this by default but I've seen some boards try to tighten the timings which banjo'd the slower RAM.

That is GPU.

We had a batch of 20 and 5 did exactly the same thing. Sent them all back to get replaced. When graphics cards fail in a big way they can take down a whole system. If you fired up a machine and pulled out the graphics card while it was running it'd crash the whole machine. It doesn't know what to do, so it will shit the bed. That is why your IGA screen shows a picture but is still frozen.

Rocking those stupid overclocks are a great way to ruin hardware. The option is there but unless you've got money to chuck at the problems it creates, just don't do it.

I'm sexy and you know it.

Bring on Six Nations victory.

Also a JVC KD-R43. The Sony CDX-2000 I had in was nice and all, but didn't support MP3 CDs or have the ability to plug in my multi-changer. The new head unit can take USB pens, has 2 aux ports (one in the back to feed into the glove box, one on the front). It is a bit of a shit to use though so really can't be tweaked while driving just yet. But I have a butt load of music on a 8GB USB pen now, so who needs a multi-changer?

You know what I'm saying.
You might want to consider sleeping with a gun under your pillow.

Quote from Rappa Z :True, but it's only a matter of time until Klutch posts his car and a massive flame war begins.

True enough. But if everyone else posts their cars first at least we can appreciate them before the flame war kicks off.

Quote from e2mustang :oh we got lots of mud.. i cant leave my dads house coz i would sink about a meter down. Its like "once u enter noone leaves!"

Maybe it is a plot, does he regularly leave money scattered around the garden for you to collect? Has he started looking at brochures for super cars and highlighting various option? Does he have huge life insurance on you?

Quote from Rappa Z :How about 'Post Your Car (And Fight About It)?'

No one has to fight about a RR. They are neutral vehicles that even hippies love.

I went for a drive.

It was quite entertaining.

I actually bothered to take photos for once.

Bit of a hassle though, I was paranoid someone would nick my vehicle when I jumped out.

Roads quickly ran out though.

And these tyres might've got me slightly stuck.

Still got me out though.

Quote from Jakg :Any excuse.

Ewwww, you're one of those scumbags who doesn't clear his car of snow before setting off. Pro tip: Get yourself a soft bristled brush (I got mine from Pound Land), they wouldn't work to sweep the floor but to get snow off of a motor, takes me about 30 seconds to clear the snow. Much quicker and safer than jumping out here there and everywhere to hack at it with an ice scraper.

It does tickle me how few roads have been treated down there though. I struggle to find an untreated road up here.

Well hows about that. I told my mum to "learn to drive" instead of running around North Yorkshire for her. She decided to take my advice and drive her own car in the snow. I got a text message saying "best fun ever! scary at times but the empty car park was awesome" I think we have a convert. In the shape of a 50something year old woman.

There is the tiniest amount of white stuff on the ground here, but already I've recieved calls from people asking if I can just bring my Jeep (that annoys me since it is a Range Rover, not a Jeep) and help them with xyz. These are the same people that call me a baby narwhal killer the rest of the year. So **** that noise. If I could take a FWD open diff van through worse they can cope.

That said, if you're a hot babe in distress, you can have my number and I'll be right over.

Quote from Matrixi :Nearing battlestation nirvana. Working with Photoshop is so much nicer now with extra screen space.

[porn]

Rotated the right screen 180 degrees after taking the pic so its logo/buttons are facing outwards, cba to snap another photo.

But that isn't a Mac. You can't Photoshop with a PC. TV told me so.

New bits for my kapooter.
AMD X6 3.3Ghz
8GB DDR3 Crucial Ballistix.
Currently only rocking an AMD Radeon HD5450. Getting new card on Tuesday.

For my truck a new battery. 1000CCA 130AH. The current jobby is underrated for my vehicle and suffers somewhat in the winter.

Quote from Matrixi :Propably because they were bored? A lot of us have been in that same spot, but still returned after taking a few year break.

OP has barely scratched the surface of LFS with the available demo content. If some old guys decide to leave (I suspect they will come back when/if new content patches are released) then so be it, but they don't relate in any way to the OP who has only had one track and a couple cars to enjoy.

I think I remember some forum member saying some years back that the kübler-ross five stages of grief work very well with LFS too. Denial -> anger -> bargaining -> depression -> acceptance. The road to acceptance is long, but once you get there, things will be better and you simply take LFS how it is, because things aren't going to change no matter how much you bash it or the devs. You accept it how it is, and enjoy what there is to enjoy.

LFS isn't that special, I was a bit fanboyish for a while, but it just isn't worth the hype. There are better sims out there, maybe they don't have the same extremely detailed tyre model, but that isn't enough to make LFS the besteva! If you buy a licence knowing that how it is now will quite probably be how it always will be, then fair enough. But online play is pointless unless you setup your own private server with friends/a league so it doesn't become cruise/drift/destruction derby or you spend all of your time hot lapping offline. You can't race in public servers.

So to OP, if you don't go in with huge expectations, then you won't get your heart broken. It isn't a perfect sim, there are better options out there, you'll never get to have a clean race using public servers in any game, that is just how the public are. But for 24 wingwangs, you can help keep the devs in supply of coffee for an extra month. Although I still doubt we'll ever see new content in LFS unless the devs say "we've given up, here is what we have, enjoy."

I carried out the most important mod for any Range Rover owner. For some weird reason, the guy who spec'd out my P38 didn't want cup holders (mad I know). I corrected this problem.

Quote from anttt69 :Not sure what has happened but it seems the password entry section of gmail has been hacked so that when you type in two same passwords it thinks that the passwords are not the same (even tho they are).

Has anyone else had this happen or knows of a solution?

I cant access my email or create a new account . So its goodbye gmail as there is no way to conact them. Which is crap.

teh internet suks

Why are you sticking in your password twice if it is an existing account? The error is on your end as I've just setup a new mule account without issue.

Please power off your computer and return it to the store where you purchased it. I imagine PC World.

Is it so much to ask for a couple of inches? Only 2 or 3 would keep me happy. Is it so much to ask for?
