As usual Benji is on top of it and from my Race Spectator V0.1 it looks like penalties are served and the race is continuing.
RESTART AND WE ARE SCREWED AGAIN???
We the LOTF team are on vent and have yet to figure out why CAR #1 keeps getting notices of PENALTIES!!! Someone NEEDS TO EXPLAIN NOW!
In that picture, did you set the ASA to 200 (the lowest that camera will do) or just leave it in automatic.
I've been thinking of picking up a D40X for a while now. Prices are getting better each month.
Simple solution:
NO MULTIPLE SERVERS Qualify for the ONE server or sit out the events. Damn trying to be the biggest racing series.
Complex solution:
Have multiple series (servers) that once you start you stay with that server till the END and top finishers (thru 6, 8, 10, ??) have weight added (equalizer) based on finishing order from the previous event. This will keep the sand baggers from gaining too much advantage.
Bare in mind that a persons spin or loss of position under the safety car that is NOT caused by another entry but by losing control of your car when heating up the tires SHOULD NOT be allowed to retake their position. Nothing complicated about that. If you can't maintain control of your car then you need to suffer the loss of position.
My teammate had to jump into my driving stint due to my system locking up as I was entering the server. His wheel did not take his current calibration and he had to do it on track causing the car to spin and the loss of two places, 6th to 8th (Lap 32 I think). He did not try to re-pass the two cars as it's the correct thing to do. It's a shame that others cannot police themselves in this situation.
Grow up as a proper sportsman or get out of playing with others. :chairs:
No, I use it too but I just happen to not be in the car then due to a disconnect at home. Damn Time Warner Cable.
DWB, from seeing the replay from your car. I call it a racing incident not intended by the last driver in line. I still hate the traffic law that say the last car in the line of several cars in a rear ender is at fault.
After watching the replay.
My Apologies to the Cyber Team and driver, scipy. During the confusion on Ventrilo, It was not you who punted Stu but it was DeadWolfBones. However it was a racing incident with several cars entering a corner on the lap 34 restart. Just racing luck.
I have not personally watch the replay but am going on what our driver said over ventrilo. Although he felt he got punted I'm going to watch the replay before doing any more than mentioning it. As has been said before, the front running cars tend to be very aggressive in passing especially for position. It's getting old FAST.
I'll post back after watching the replay. May have been just a racing thing in our case. Only one point of view as of now.
You mean you PUNTED the LOTF car out of the way, don't you?
IV. GENERAL RACING CONDUCT
8) Drivers must overtake in a safe and respectful manner. Drivers should have at least a half-car overlap on another car before committing to an overtaking maneuver. Cars ahead on corner exit are entitled to take the racing line, but only if cleanly ahead of the trailing car.
I will add to the blue flag comments, I had the privilege to see a LOT of blue flags and for sure after the first several cars that lapped me, I could not tell if it was a leader or a car that I could still unlap myself from and compete. So I and my mates have adopted the stance that we do not worry about the blue flag until the overtaking vehicle is close enough to safely let pass. If this is bothering some of the sprint drivers that have joined endurance racing, all I can say is get use to it! I have had cars catch me when I made one of my many mistakes but I was able to drive off from them till the next mistake. When they are on my bumper I shall give up the line very quickly but not before. I can remember only once in the race that I was completely surprised by a lead car lapping me and I gave way ASAP.
I believe that it is the intent to not stay with the safety car on the last few turns or sector of the last pace lap so that the safety car may advance ahead of the pack to be CLEAR of the pack on the restart. So, It should be noted that the pit limiter MUST be activated for the last two turns minimum for the field till the green flag is presented. I do NOT agree that the admins have to police all the drivers of the pit limiter use. There is too much crap to keep track of already.
I believe that many, including me, do know know how to file up when the safety car enters the track to pick up the leader. There are advantages to being able to PASS the safety car legally if it has not picked up the leader when you get to the safety car. I was told that you do not want to drag your butt around the track until the leader is picked up by the safety car and you fall in behind the forming line. Just like a real endurance event.
