I tried a low FF setting and hated it, maybe its because my real life car does not have power steering and i am used to using a bit of force but i prefer at least 105%.
Up until last night I have been playing on 720 degrees steering, i deided to try it on 360 and it was incredibly easy to drift (i mean better than my usual crap attempts).
However i decided to set it back on 720 as 360 is hardly realistic right? i'm still unsure i found a lot of old threads on this and advice was conflitcing, so i will leave it down to personal preference.
what do the top racers/drifters use in there settings? (if they even tell anyone).
There are a few other DX10 games, world in conflict (mentioned), hellgate: london, crysis (mentioned), i think there is one more that was emailed to me from nvidia today.
but no way am I upgrading to vista until it is actually required and is worth it.
Would be great if stalling was enabled to enhance the realism even more. Also, if you don't let the clutch out right the car should 'bog down', that way it is even more realistic to get a good launch.
Hey guys,
I downloaded those drift layouts for autocross. Great fun!
There is 1 layout that has a smaller circle and a larger circle in it and you have to try and hold the drift all the way around it. I can manage half of the bigger circle until I lose it.
I figure with practice I will be able to do the whole thing, i'm using 720 degrees steering, is this ok? I know it would be easier on a lower setting but I want to learn on 720 and use that all the time for race/drift.
It was weird about the Q6600.
One day it was 800AUD, the next it was down to 360, so I never intended to go quad it was just much better value at the time.
I will put it back down to 16X and see if its noticeable, if it is ill leave it at 32 because it looks so smooth.
This guide has improved my graphics no end!
i set the AA to 32X as my system couldnt handle 64 even though its brand new lol. i mean it ran the game but it started to lag so i set it to 32X, maxed everything else out.
maxed all the game settings out and dl'ed all the hi res packs too (skies, tracks, lights, steering wheel, wiper blades etc).
graphics are so good now, best ive seen in my gaming career (wouldnt be hard).
tried it on 62X but even my computer couldnt handle it to well, it played but then started to lag so thought no point, now im getting about 70-100 fps. i think that for the setting its on combined with all those hi-res packs this is good.
Hmm just did a quick run at 1920X1200 32bit.
also loaded high res skies, high res tracks, hi res everything really (steering wheel, wiper blades, lights etc all from lfs-database).
getting 200-240 fps with everything maxed out.
I dont really know what else to change to make it look even better but I think it looks fricken awesome compared to what im used to! I used to have it on low everything and like windowed and 1024X768
also tried it loading 20 AI cars and it ran smoothly but cant remember the fps.
all the axis are working but it seems whenever i crash and restart the steering wheel centre is set to like half lock. and it vibrates like hell nearly shaking it off the desk as well.
Lol I am the opposite of rich man!!
I am a uni student, on top of that I own a rotary that chews through the juice (petrol), I am constantly broke lol!
But, in the holidays and weekends i work my ass off to be able to buy shit like this and fund my car/rent/bills etc.
oh, you should see my old pc (laptop, 5 years old, 16mb graphics 128mb ram etc), it took me 5 years to upgrade hahah!
