Well, on my first miles with S2 i avoided joining servers with >12 racers.

Most of the (over)populated servers are manic with lots of racers on it, you won´t learn anything there.

Join "small" grids and have some fun, and always be patient

Just serch for servers with the lowest pings, you can sort the serverlist by ping.

Overpopulated servers dont suit a newbie anyway

Same here My friend and me literally spent nights with racing the xfg door-to-door when he was still a demo user.

You might consider buying a gamepad, wont take much space and you´ll have 2 analogue sticks to use, however you will have to convince your wife again.
Besides that, a decent gamepad will cost you as much as a Logitech Driving Force Pro wheel, assuming that you live in Switzerland and could order you Dfp in Germany for 34,50 Eur.

lvl 1 = respected racer ( he's abloe to cancel votes , restart race and maybe spec someone )

at the top end of the scale

lvl 10 server host/head admin ( he gives out admin lvls , adjusts the servers options , he can kick ban anyone etc )
