Please do not connect to any [TC] branded servers for the time being as we cannot guarantee that they are ours.
All [TC] Gaming services, including our forum, websites and LFS servers are currently experiencing a severe Denial of Service attack and have been for several days. As a result, our LFS servers keep losing connection to the master server which is letting a certain group of individuals start up fake servers under our name. This group are also masquerading as [TC] members around LFS. Please note that any InSim that may be running on these servers is not ours.
The origin of this attack was blackmail for an unban by certain members of the Arabic LFS community. We will not submit to blackmail and we will not negotiate with the attackers. Evidence, including screenshots, server logs and text dumps are available on request.
Until such a time that we can end the disruption, please do not connect to any LFS server with [TC] branding as we cannot guarantee that it is one of ours. Rest assured, we have not been hacked, all of our data is intact and we are working extremely hard to resolve these issues.
The people responsible for this attack are de facto criminals and should be treated as such.
Seeing as you brought 2 very nice kart tracks to Weshtill, which no current LFS cars really suit, surely karts make more sense in the short term than bikes or any other new vehicle types.
For the sake of helping people who are new to the game or who might not know that a certain mod is not allowed, could we get a list of the things that the cheat protection system actually checks for? I'd understand if you didn't want to go into too much detail in case people use the information to circumvent the CPW system but it's hard to be useful as a server admin when people are asking why they've been kicked (or previous banned). Also, a lot of people seem to think that it's us (the server provider), that's issuing the ban, and not the game. Making that clearer would be appreciated.

If you mean how do you update to the latest patch (LFS0.6R), in LFS go to Multiplayer > Display list of hosts > Choose a download mirror
If you mean how do you access more content/licensed servers, head to https://lfs.net/shop and purchase a license. I recommend an S2/S3 license as there aren't that many active S1 servers these days.
I'm sorry that you feel you haven't had a nice experience on [TC] CityDriving. As for the people who have spoiled your game-play, we do have strict rules on crashing and ramming. When you first join a CityDriving server you are advised to read the server rules online at http://city-driving.co.uk/rules - These are what our admins are enforcing to try and ensure that everyone enjoys our servers.
As for your ban, you have been banned for 14 days. If you feel you've been banned unfairly you can apply for an unban and/or you can report the users who caused you problems in our reports forum. If you apply for an unban the admin that banned you will happily discuss the reasons for your ban and will grant you an unban if they feel you deserve it upon reviewing your side of the story.
Also, addressing the points you raised in your post:
The rate at which you earn in-game money has been balanced such that you don't earn cars too quickly or too slowly. Sure it still takes a while but that's the whole point. If you want to drive cars more quickly, you can buy used ones from the Auto Market but these won't last as long.
The '[COP]' tag has been the way police have been identified on our servers since the beginning. The reason we chose to use a tag rather than an anonymous system was so that cops could be easily identifiable. The reason for using the word 'cop' as opposed to 'police' is purely the length of the word, it doesn't take up too much of your name. Also, the original name of [TC] CityDriving was [TC] Cops 'n' Robbers so it stems from that too.
We have a list of skin guidelines which means anyone can create a cop skin. We do have a public cop skin pack which contains approved cop skins but we allow custom ones because we wanted people to be able to use their creativity to bring new cop skins into play.
As for cops smashing you relentlessly, this is 100% against the rules and should have been reported at the time. They are allowed to use tactical force such as a P.I.T manoeuvre, but are not allowed to ram/deliberately crash you.
There used to be LFS community awards where people voted for various things. One of the categories was 'Best public server (cruise)' which we won on a number of occasions, but not every time. These awards haven't been run for a number of years. I think that every cruise server offers something different and the popularity of [TC] CityDriving is probably because it offers the best balance of a multitude of factors. It's all down to your preference though as to which server you believe is the best.
I hope this clears a few things up but I'm just sorry to hear you didn't have a good time after you were clearly looking forward to it for a long time.
For specific servers, yes, but not for specific channels within servers I don't think. You can change your nickname per server using the nickname command:
/nick your_nickname_here
Note that this command doesn't work on servers where the changing of nicknames is not permitted.
LFS COMMUNITY DISCORD SERVERS
To have your community server featured here, please post an invitation link (set to never expire) plus your community name below.
I've set up a new Discord server for the Live for Speed community after the previous server hit trouble with the owner losing access to it. You can connect to it with this invitation.
Discord is a free text and voice chat application designed for gaming communities. I believe that LFS currently lacks a centre for community interaction that was previously filled by the LFS GameSurge IRC server which is now only used by those who have lurked there since the dawn of time. I hope that this server will act as some centre, other than the forum, for people to chat with others about LFS.
I hope to build it to the stage where we can set up channels for upcoming events and leagues in any driving sector (racing, drifting, cruising etc.). Currently we have channels set up for very general topics but, although we don't want to overload it, suggestions are welcome for new ones.
At the moment there are 3 server admins (TFalke55, MandulAA and myself), but I hope to recruit some moderators soon to help keep it a safe and open space for everyone to chat.
