Quote from D.Zanetti :Im interested. Where's KY3 though?

It would be in there if the s3 chicane didn't suck so badly!

Quote from hyntty :UUH you do't wanna go there...

PM means post meridiem ("after midday" in Latin) and AM means ante meridiem ("before midday"). A.M. and P.M. start immediately after Midnight and Noon (Midday) respectively. This means that 00:00 A.M. or 00:00 P.M. or 12:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. have no meaning.

Otherwise 12 AM would be the same as 12 PM since

12 AM = 12 before midday
12 PM = 12 after midday

Source: http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/noon.htm

If you ask anyone in this country they'll tell you that 12 AM = 0000 and 12 PM = 1200.

Might be worth knowing the length of the race.

Scratch that - it's still broken.

Quote from Bean0 :If you open them with LFS.exe they are automatically copied to the relevant folder so that they show up in game.

Otherwise, just save to you desktop or somewhere then copy to LFS\data\setups (or settings - it changed, can't recall which is current).

Setups is current, settings is old.

Quote from Victor :how about now?

I'm not sure what's going on with that ’ character. It seems conversion to UTF-8 is going wrong or so, so I'm manually converting it into ’ to see if that makes a difference. At least it's now showing in firefox's xml reader where it wasn't before.
I don't know if there are more wrong charaters. Couldn't spot any so far anyway.

Well that validator doesn't complain anymore.

Quote from banshee56 :Victor:

Do you see any issues with the RSS feed from LFS News? I am using the standard RSS feed function within Wordpress and it is showing that the LFS News RSS feed URL (http://www.lfsworld.net/feeds.php?type=news&f=0) does not output a valid RSS feed. Yet, when you navigate to that URL in a browser, you get the feed just. Is this something from your end or is this Wordpress with the error?

Seems fine - guess it's an issue with Wordpress.

Edit

This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.
  • line 90, column 116: description contains bad characters (2 occurrences) [help]

... nd Aston GT rev track it was #low-racing\x92s J. Scheuerle who came away wi ...

Completely wrong.

Quote from George Kuyumji :... I know alot of current LFS users do not care whether a track is realistic or not, but for potenial customers it is very very important, its as important as realistic cars ...

From my experience I would actually say that a lot of experienced LFS'ers would very much like to see some real-world tracks in LFS, largely because of the somewhat narrow range of choices we have at the moment.

This isn't a dig at Eric, but with one person designing every track in the game we're always going to have fairly limited variability in the type of layout we see. For example, currently pretty much every track we have, with the exception of KY1, contains a chicane.

Quote from chunkyracer :The question is that none of those tracks or any of the modding content of Rfactor is conected or supported in an oficial way by the creators of the game. No track owner or car company is willing to take the time to go after some anonymous modder, but that doesn´t mean they will not do it against a software company or game creators that are making money from selling their games. Which means that any kind of content that has a real life counterpart, couldn´t have official support by the devs, therefore it wouldn´t be possible to control what is released and by whom, ending with the same disavantages that RFactor has, and that, I think, is not what this community wants from LFS.

Very good point.

Quote from amp88 :This could be connected with the move to DST in some parts of the world on Saturday night into Sunday (Wiki link). I thought the LFS World server was hosted in the UK though.

It's hosted on a server in Lancashire, England according to locateip.co.uk.

Edit: Totally didn't notice your whois link!
LFS World times are wrong?
joshdifabio

For a few days the times on LFS World appear to be 1 hour behind where they should be.

My timezone on LFS World is set to UTC+0 but the times displayed are all UTC-1.

This is true on both my home PC and on the lab PCs at uni.

Quote from Feuerdrache :I've directly added the userbars in my siganture. How is it possible to use them in other forums?

Driver

Team

Replace the bits in caps .

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Btw, Josh, I was wondering if there's a way to have a search founction? It's actually very hard to find someone's stats, especially if this person belongs a country with many LFSers or if this person didn't achieve to have strong results in leagues.

A search function is one of the many things I'd add if I had more time and weren't so lazy :P.

However, as long as you know someone's LFS username it isn't hard to find their profile, just add the username to the end of 'spdoracing.com/eventdb/driver/'.

Quote from Victor :shouldn't be long - I've gone through the oldest entries first, so there were the most to delete. I've still a couple hundred to go. But there are still 846 teams in the database atm, so they can't all have ceased to exist

EDIT - 831 teams - i think i'm done, though you should always expect teams to disappear coz I'll be doing this from time to time.

Well if they're gone from LFS World then that should sync up on my site, which is fine, but earlier on I wasn't getting any drivers for spdoRacing, SK, F1RST, #low or any of the teams I tried, even though they're still listed on LFS World.

I'll try again now and report my results...

Edit: Working fine now

Could you let us know when you've finished? Our site keeps claiming that everyone's left the team :P. (And actually that almost every team has ceased to exist.)

EDIT : Fixed !

Looks like there are a couple of quote [" "] marks missing from the html. I've let Victor know about it in the userbars thread so hopefully he'll be able to sort it soon.

Well done for finding a workaround though .

Edit: Victor's fixed it now!

You should try and get marcione to hand over control of n! on LFS World to one of you guys. I know it's possible because I can see the option on there for spdo.

Quote from Victor :works again.

about unexpected results, I'm doing a big teams cleanup, so there are atm around 200 less entries than before. Dunno if that's what you meant (getting less entries)

Oh yes! I just came to post to say that lots of teams have disappeared!

What's the reason for the clean-up just out of interest? Is it due to people deleting their teams from LFSWorld or what?

Edit: Members of the deleted teams still have the tag shown on their profile page, just fyi.

Is the 'teams' function broken at the moment?

Try this: http://www.lfsworld.net/pubstat/get_stat2.php?version=1.4&idk={identKey}&ps=false&action=teams&c=0&s=0

Edit: I started getting unexpected output around 2 weeks ago (February 24th), but that could be at my end as I made some changes to my system around that time.

I've created a couple of dynamic userbars which Victor has kindly added to the forum. The first one shows a few league stats for a given driver, and the second one does the same but for a team.

Driver userbar

[spdor]joshdifabio[/spdor]

The driver userbar simply requires that you enter your LFS license name.

Team userbar

[spdot]154[/spdot]

The team userbar requires that you enter a unique team id. These are assigned by LFS World and can be found on our website's team index by clicking the team in question and taking the number from the URL.
