Quote from FIZ :Oh my Gods.. all of them!!

I mean.. if this thing is actually "driveable" while flying, I am really curious to know what Scawen think about the possibility to do it and to make your flying dreams become true!

Yesterday I tested the mini-moto mod and the other motorbike mod and it was absolutely surprisingly good. Maybe LFS can do even more..

If he could add a new propulsion system for this.. I'd vote yes.

Can you post a video of the thing flying?

haha yea sure ill see what i can do! Lemme get back to you on that ill post it here Wink
Small Update 1

New update guys! Didn't get around to fixing the animation or texturing the interior yet :/ got very side tracked with new exterior features lol
Going to try and get the rest sorted tomorrow, hate having the interior still unfinished as it makes for a rough VR experience.

Rally default setup and visual additions! The original and TransAm setups have been adjusted too. The stock car setup has been made even more default and looks like normal low spec traffic.

New steering wheel WIP... basically just a placeholder cause im unsure if ill keep this one as is. Im probably going to try and make a larger steering wheel maybe something more wood grain?

Love this 240z great work, i was going to mention the same thing martin18 did lol. Thought the choice of motor was a little weird. Also your tire sizes are extremely small why not a 15" or 14" with 45 ratio or 50? something with a little more meat to fill the fenders Wink

Mod is top notch man! Really like that you’re going all-out with the accuracy and recreating the IRL car into LFS. My favourite part of making a mod is finding all the specs and try to replicate it to then drive in game Smile looking forward to what comes next for this

Quote from Chansonje :he's completely ready, I'm racking my head about what to do, release or not

That is so sick, love the sev marchal headlight covers Big grin Might have to add something like that to mine Wink

Would love too drive it!

Quote from Kid222 :I noticed each car variant has only one shadow for all - the one without wings. The winged cars look weird on track then, without the appropriate shadow. Is it a bug or a feature? Smile

definitely a bug... I was sure I added the multiple configuration pieces to my LOD2 but will put out a quick update tonight fixing that if I had missed that during my recent update changing all the configurations lol

Car is uploaded and awaiting review. Hopefully it will be playable online tomorrow and you guys can give your feedback! Thanks for the comments so far everyone!

Let me know if you feel anything should be changed on the car, other than the obvious texturing that I'm still working on!

State of the car right now Smile

Still working on texture and changing the look of the car. Gotta finish up the interior and it should be close to being uploaded as version 1!

Excited to try this, Would love to race these around Rockingham like the goodwood festival! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz2eEj9051c

EDIT: Just thought that for the animation you can make the driver lean in the car the harder you turn haha, would be a cool addition to add and not to hard to do!
AM Pheonix - Muscle car

Hey guys,

Currently im working on what im calling the AM Pheonix muscle car.
The original model came from sketchfab: https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/american-muscle-71-low-poly-model-955edc733c6d44fabc0ad7c246a15896

But im changing multiple aspects of the car to make it more of my own, since the car falls under the CC Attribution license and allows me too Smile

Ive been designing to make the car's setup similar to Chansonje's CMR Transam, So they can be raced together! Like a real Trans am race series.

Let me know what you guys think of the car/idea so far! If theres anything specific you'd like to see done to it let me know!

Quote from scania :I need some help,
all of my car, neither how hard or how soft I set the suspension are still very bumpy, specially under braking how to fix it?

Pm me the car youre working on and ill have a look. Seems like something to do with the suspension tuning.

Quote from Tomfuel :the idea is cool, but ... i dld a subobject "rollcage" and it came a full unused cutouts and maps and other stuff from MRT ... Big Eye

LOL might still be some leftover objects and triangles, had to export the objects separately from mods ive made so it got confusing quick. Ill go in and fix any errors that might come up. Thanks for letting me know haha

Quote from Scawen :I've added an experimental option to prevent clipping. It uses a small function on the output waveform to map 0...infinity to 0...1

Like this:

f_out = f_in / (|f_in| + 1.0)

when f_in is very small, f_out is very little affected
when f_in would have just started to clip (1.0) f_out is 0.5
when f_in is very large, f_out approaches 1.0

So:
- it doesn't clip, regardless of how excessive the sound is or how many cars
- it is quieter, so you'll need to turn up the volume
- it is always distorted to some extent

I don't know how bad this distortion is. I couldn't see any reference to this algorithm on the internet. It's similar to Reinhard tone mapping which can be used in graphics to present an HDR image to a SDR screen.

I'd be interested to know what you think of it. So far I've only heard it on some small speakers, haven't tried headphones etc.

The option is available in Options - Audio in W50.

You can get W50 by clicking "List of Hosts" in LFS.

This is super cool Scawen, gonna give this a try right away!
"Flight" in LFS
Jake_Blasted
S3 licensed
Hey guys,

Recently ive been brainstorming how to bring something new to lfs through
the use of the lfs model editor. Ive been playing with the idea of flight for awhile by using the
downforce mechanics and making the wings act as lift.

Ive made a couple lightweight planes and a paper airplane Big grin and by setting the lift low, around 0.300N with my tests, you can gain enough speed to slowly start to takeoff without losing tire grip and sliding around.
You can guess that the problems I'm running into is that there's no propulsion mechanics such as turbines or blade rotors to propel the plane through the air after takeoff.

Still lots of fun getting the plane over 180km/h where it likes to takeoff and trying to keep it in a equilibrium state of floating through the air, without letting the front wheels touch the ground (single rear wheel keeps the momentum up).

Not asking for this to be implementing into lfs, just thought id share the idea and see what people think. I wonder if it would even be possible to add a propulsion system into lfs. Maybe just a subobject that acts as propellers and spins the faster you move? then have a vector force coming straight forward 90 degrees from the propeller and have it work as long as youre on the throttle, to keep mid air momentum.

Let me know what you guys think, I think theres lots of potential to get creative with things like this

Car is lots of fun on track! Its super grippy running the 325's in the rear so its great to race.

Suspension setup is all over the place. Doesnt feel great on wheel since its constantly shaking.
Also im no drag racing expert but im not sure if trailing arm's front and rear make for a good drag car setup. Wheels aren't done yet either still still a no spoke wheel lol.

Car looks good tho i think just a couple fixes will really make it a fun car to race with friends.

Quote from Rubie :The vehicle is so close to 65k limit, I can do it if I find 2-3 good low poly parts

I don't think double wishbone for the front for now, the car is fine with it.I'll change it if there's too many requests, but for now everyone says it's fine.

You dont need to add anything in the model editor, its a feature in the frame editor. I own an Ej 1999 (Ek chassis) and it has double wishbone front suspension lol. Macpherson is on the 7th gen civics I believe.
Steering feels slightly odd how it is not and doesnt handling exactly as it should..
Nothing extremely wrong with how it is now but such a simple change it seems wrong not to do it. Its the whole reason the older civic chassis are adored and still used today.

Another beautiful mod, Looks great inside and out... just needs that double wishbone front! and maybe a few other little things to give it that "osaka racer" feel Wink

Quote from BlueFlame :Steering rack update helped alot. But I found when reducing total steering angle the wheel rotation was scaling down, so the ratio remained almost the same throughout, so I was unable to get it exactly as I would have liked.

Aw Frown sad to hear that it didnt quite work out. LFS scales the steering turn angle to correspond to the total angle the wheels can turn.

Glad that it helped out a bit and made some impact! you can try setting your IRL wheels steering rotation up through your wheels setting app or in LFS in the Axes/FF tab.
