At live-for-speed.de the german reseller of lfs, 4players, announced in a little note under the news about the april update:

On their "order LfS" page, they say:

This should say a lot.

the CD will just be released after the patch, because most customers have ordered such a long time ago and he won't let wait them any longer.

thanks to everybody for the congratulations and to the admins for the great league!

what started as a fun event for us became a really tough and serious competition in the end.

And thanks to all teams that stayed in the whole season and kept the league alive before the hype began

green and yelloq are not so different from current club and national, maybe in addition with the cyan connection.

Quote : RBR Source Code Aquired by Sim Racers [01-04-2006 | JZ | Comments (43) ]
On friday march 31 the the source code for richard burns rally was aquired by the swedish sim racers foundation.

The source code was previously owned by Gizmondo Europe Ltd, which was declared bankrupt earlier this year, and has now been purchased from the bankruptcy estate. The price of the sale was undisclosed. President of the SSRF, Nicklas Karlsson says, in a statement that "When we read about the bankruptcy of Gizmondo, we felt that this was a great opportunity to aquire the source code for the RBR project, and make it available to sim racers all over the world". According to the statement
Kangaroo, the track editor used to create the tracks for RBR, will be the first application to be released. Later on the whole source code for RBR will be made availabe to the public, but not before the physics component has been replaced. Nicklas Karlsson continues "RBR is very highly regarded in the sim community, however some aspects of the code are not up to the standards of the newly released sims, this is why we have chosen to replace the physics component.

PS: I should have posted it yesterday, i hope you don't mind

Quote from Gabkicks :yeah thats right... the devs said that they were going to make a new model for the rb4.

but then that wouldn't be a real surprise, would it?

I really hope it's a bigger thing than just a minor car update.

Quote from Hyperactive :I bought the game some time ago and so far it has been nothing more than a disappointment. The steering lag is there althought the 1.01 patch helped some. In higher speeds it is undrivable. Also the game doesn't even work correctly on my comp. Only way to quit a stage is control-alt-del. Pressing esc does nothing, I have been sitting on my roof for minutes and the only way to get back on road is to restart RBR. Reinstalls haven't helped. There are no mods installed except the finnish co-driver sounds which I installed few mins ago.

The only good thing was that it did cost only 10 euros.

EDIT: forgot to mention that my pedals work on/off and the game looks ugly

but that's obviously a problem with your computer, you can't blame RBR for that.

Quote from Vain :
A google querry didn't bring up anything beside the official website and game-reviews, so I guess there are no fanpages for this game and no fan-material. That is very sad, I'd really like some (well, actually a lot) more tracks.

german fanpage:
http://richardburnsrally.de/

Alot of mods and addon cars and other downloads:
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/RBR/downloads

RSC forum:
http://forum.rscnet.org/forumdisplay.php?f=563

That should keep you occupied for a while

Afaik there won't be a sequel, because the devs are now part of a studio which develops a strange console handheld thingy.
And obviously there won't be a sequel under that name

RBR is the best rally sim out there (even one of the best sims ever), so there are no real alternatives.

Quote from Vykos69 :I might quote Ian Bell from 2004 GamesConvention here (chief of Blimey, former head of studio of SimBin): "Yeah, I wanted to have Scawen, Eric and Vic in the team, but their game is simply to succesful, I cant pay them"

but that's a completely different thing. He was talking about licensing the engine, not the devs
