Anyone here have ac that hasn't been updated for a while? In the latest patches the sdk editor was updated. So if anyone has an non-updated version of the sdk editor I'd be happy if you could zip it and upload for me.

To see if your sdk is new or old open these two folders:
\Steam\SteamApps\common\assettocorsa\sdk\editor
And/or (depending if you have the sdk tool from steam)
\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assetto Corsa Editor

Look at when the ksEditor.exe is updated. If it is earlier than this month then please copy the "editor" folder (or "Assetto Corsa Editor") for me (is about 70+Mb, less with). Thanks! If someone does this let you drive my latest beta for the jaguar Tongue.

I don't mean a bit. I mean you can really hammer the cars out of corners. This also makes it kind of lfs-esque how the cars regain or lose grip. It is so gradual and smooth. Exiting out of corners in four wheel slides is easier than blinking your eyes while holding a burrito. Like there was no drop off in grip or no load sensitivity at all. Like there is no peak of any kind. It does remind me a bit when nkpro version was released and it had that bug with something to do with longnitudal grip. Kinda like the muscle car in nkpro where you could just increase the grip of the car by giving more throttle.

and you think driving a car is that difficult ?

It feels like max grip is something like 15 degrees of slip angle with full throttle and loads of longinitudinal slip when driving out of corners. At times in mid corner when you get back on throttle the car starts to turn better... in rwd car... Also when recovering from slides it seems the more power you add the faster it auto corrects itself.

I'm not saying realism is hard. But compared to 1.2 this feels a bit like forza for me (yes, I used that word!).

Quote from ACCAkut :so modders need to rework their kn5 exports, their Fmod and the physics again

wonder why they can't just integrate the suspension editor into the main KS Editor

What changes with kn5? Also physics is there more than tire load sensitivety change coming?

Sauce?

Did you unpack the zip file correctly? You don't put the Nissan_Sil80 folder of the zip file into your \cars folder but you put the 4 folders below that folder instead. So the 4 folders in your \cars folder should be the nissan_sil80_s2, nissan_sil80_dspec, nissan_sil80_2jz and the nissan_sil80_d460. You should not have folder called Nissan_Sil80 in your \cars folder.

The v8 supercar is fun to drive. It drives completely different than the iracing version. Where as the i version was constantly slipping and sliding at the edge of self destruction the sce version is a lot more planted until you start to really push it.

Wish there were more people online. It is just great fun when you find a server. Compared to ac online the sce online experience is super clean.

It is not very 2015 if you need to own the dlc just to be able to drive a base content car on a server against dlc car. Even iracing allows you to do that as long as you own the the track and the car you are driving yourself.

like always, it's easy to say but hard to make.

It is easy to make. I could probably do it myself. All kunos needs to do is to include the cars without the data.acd and make the game not crash when you try to load a car without data.acd. After that you could race against the dlc cars without owning them. The checksum cheat protection for the data.acd should not matter either because there is no reason for the checksum system to check the cars data files that you are not driving.

There, done.

Well I personally prefer to hear the cars as they sound and preferrably little more aggressive and raspy to compensate for their loudness (or lack of in sims). I don't like for example how in iracing all the cars sound too clean. Like the audio guy went and took away all the irregularities and small defects from the samples.

And I like to keep my audio levels reasonable because I don't want to get kicked out from my apartment Tongue. So some kind of "faked loudness effect" is fine for me.

I'm not fan of dynamic sounds either as I like to set my sound volume so that it works throughout the rev range. Not so that I can't hear anything at low revs and then go deaf at high revs.

Also if you want to hear how it sounds with earplugs then wear ear plugs Smile. Should not be difficult with headphones.

Personally I really like the constant squeking and squeeling sounds the cars make. I'd wish they'd make these kind of sounds all the time and had more nuances to them. And not just when you hit a relatively big bump. All those noises are a distraction in the real cars and it should be like that in a sim too I'd imagine (never driven a real race car).

http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/even-when-told-not-to-windows-10-just-cant-stop-talking-to-microsoft/

The way that reads to me is that windows doesn't really need to send stuff anywhere as they can just collect it on the server side because all your outgoing data has individual id. For example this is what ms said in that article:

"No query or search usage data is sent to Microsoft, in accordance with the customer's chosen privacy settings. This also applies to searching offline for items such as apps, files and settings on the device."

=

No need to send it as ms can just collect it on the other end because all bing searches contain individual machine id. And let's not forget 10 has built in software that not just sends an individual id but also looks for signs to figure out who is really using the computer.

With cloud systems, individual id'd communications and intent to collect all your data the windows doesn't need to send much anywhere because the user is already sending most of the data directly to ms. For example when you do a search windows doesn't need to send end any of that data automatically to collect it. They can just log the transmission on their end when a package with your name appears on their traffic.

Not sure if the audi s1 is awful or awesome. Atm I'm kinda leaning towards awesome. In a way it drives exactly like I expected but at the same I did not expect to like it.

I think brake glow is added in the next patch. It will be purely graphical effect until they add physical brake heat which I think will be added later.

Personally I'm looking forward the most the ffb improvements. I'm presonally running quite high filter to avoid the shaking and vibration in the ffb. And now the ffb should be smoother and more nuanced too. Stefano himself said the new ffb is like taking ac to next level. Will be nice to see how it goes.

Well at least the online is about trillion time better than ac. I'm not talking about the netcode but the people. I have not seen even one t1 carnage yet and I just did a race with the ...ehm... touring car thingies on a track where t1 is basically 100mph chicane with 12 other people. People seem to drive so nicely. Everybody gives me the way when I catch up slower cars when I'm on quali lap or when I'm lapping people and when racing people actually take care not to drive into you. It is almost like all the console kiddies are in ac mp and the harrrdcore simracers are in sce Tongue.

I think from now on I'll always check sce first when I'm looking for some online racing. As far as the server population goes it does seem like on the evenings there are couple of servers with 10+ people and maybe 4 more with 2+ people. There is some kind of server rotation system and the reiza servers are doing 25minute races. Formula truck is sadly a ghost town though Frown.

The completely new tracks is a plus too. Tracks I've never even heard of that are fun to drive. Plus there are lots of modded content as well even though most of it is direct conversion from rf1. I did convert my own track from rf1 too sce but the ai is a bit slow in weird places so I'm probably not going to release it. For hotlapping it works fine, there are just couple of fast corners where the ai brakes... when it should go flatout. If someone wants to try the track I can upload it somewhere.

"If this goes well and we manage to build up enough participation, longer term prospects include setting up leaderboards, organizing regular prize-giving competitions and also prizes for participation & safe driving - for that purpose we highly recommend users get into the habit of using their real names or at least stick to the same profile as results will already be logged on the server."

How on earth could be anything else than good thing? Other than starting from completely scratch the rf1 engine is pretty much the only one you can get atm if you ignore x-motor racing... Ac doesn't sell its engine, rf2 doesn't, iracing doesn't...

Just fyi if you don't know there is a crowdfunding thing going on and they have reached their goal so all of the stuff listed here:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/reiza-simracing-bonanza#/story
is going to be added into the game:
- v8supercar (they are calling it superv8)
- Mitsubishi Lancer Cup car
- Mitsubishi Lancer 600hp rallycross car
- Copa Montana, 300hp racing pickup
- v10 era f1 car
- 600-HP V8 Supertrucks
- f3 car
- more tracks

Reiza also has bough the rf1 source code which should mean they are planning to seriously upgrade some parts of the game. There is just 2 days of left of that crowdfunding though. I got both the games and the next game and I think it is great. I definitely see better future for this than ac.
